Quick info
About Ocean Treasure Seafood Restaurant
Ocean Treasure Seafood Restaurant is a Chinese restaurant on Greengate Industrial Estate in Manchester, with private karaoke rooms alongside a large dining room. A stage with a phoenix decoration forms part of the seating area. The menu follows a Hong Kong-style Cantonese approach with a variety of dishes, including steamed crab on glutinous rice and hot and sour soup. Dim sum is served at lunch, when the choice is broader than on the evening menu. The room suits family gatherings and celebrations, and a private dining room gives larger groups a space of their own.

Customer Review Summary
Dim sum is the main draw, with reviewers calling it some of the best in the Manchester area and comparing it favourably to what they ate in Hong Kong and China. Several describe lunch dim sum as consistently good, and one praises the Cantonese yum cha as authentic comfort food. Close behind, one diner singles out the steamed crab on glutinous rice and the hot and sour soup. Service is repeatedly called friendly, quick and helpful, and a large family celebration was served efficiently. The criticism is more mixed. One reviewer found the evening menu limited compared with other Chinese restaurants. Another called a meal below par, with dry deep-fried taro duck, greasy clay pot frog legs and lukewarm roasted meats. A takeaway order drew the harshest complaint, with salt and pepper chicken that was dry and unseasoned, and two portions thrown away. One diner who was seated on the stage hit their head on the phoenix decoration while sitting down.

“Very expensive and disappointing takeaway, will not be coming back. Salt and pepper chicken was dry, unseasoned and practically impossible to chew - 2 portions went in the bin, which is very distressing. The rest of our order was just ok.”

“Dim sum lunch is always nice from Ocean Treasure however evening meal isn't that good. I find not much choices compared to other Chinese restaurants. Staff are friendly with good service. Probably one of the best dim sum to eat in Manchester area at the moment”

“I spent four years living and travelling in China, and this place hits the nostalgia spot for me! The menu suits preferences for Chinese food in terms of both European and Chinese preferences. Some of the best dim sum I’ve had outside of China. Really relaxing vibe. Attentive service. Hot, tasty food.”

“Average chinese food. Good for daily dinner with a large group of friends. Reasonable price, slight oily.”

“A very good Hong Kong-style restaurant. The food provided is very delicious and has a variety of styles. All restaurant waiters are very nice and quick respond. Basically, I have a big meal every Sunday.”
