About The Stables Café, Heaton Park
In Heaton Park, Manchester, The Stables Café is a cafe with a hayloft area and a classroom space beside it, both used to host kids' birthday parties. The team helps parents with menus and setup for those parties, including adjustments for allergies. The everyday menu includes soup and vegan options, with a flat white among the drinks. Ready-made cheese or tuna toasties wait in the chill fridge for a quick bite. Dogs are welcome, and the staff make a fuss of visiting dogs.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the welcoming staff, with the manager and team repeatedly described as warm and friendly, and one visitor noting the staff made a fuss of their dog. Close behind is the food, called delicious and fresh, with the soup, a chai latte and vegan options named. Two parents describe hosting kids' birthday parties in the space beside the cafe after Zip World Manchester, one saying the manager adjusted the menu for a child with an egg allergy. Complaints centre on cost and dietary choice. One reviewer calls a standard coffee and a can of pop extortionate, and says the only non-meat options were ready-made cheese or tuna toasties from the fridge. Another says staff told them the only gluten free items were cake or crisps, and they spotted a gluten free tuna salad on the menu only after paying. One diner reports a poor flat white served in a paper cup despite dining in, and an overcooked poached egg. One parent recalls the lone staff member cleaning tables while helping them settle in as their son napped.

“The menu is not particularly catered for anyone who wants to eat non meat / chicken. The only option available for you are the ready made cheese or tuna toasties in the chill refrigerator. It would be nice to offer a substantial non meat freshly made lunch dish .The prices are extortionate £4.50 for a standard coffee and £2.65 for a can of pop .It is a nice place to stop and get a bite to eat but it is really overpriced considering it's a public park facility with lots of families with children who just want a nice day out without having to spend in the region of £40 for chips toasties and drinks.”

“Rude, uneducated staff was a told no gluten free options other than cake or crisp. Wasn’t until after I paid I saw a gluten free option on the menu of a tuna salad.”

“My daughter celebrated her birthday at the Stables Cafe hayloft area after visiting Zip World Manchester. We had a great experience. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Special mention to Megan who was very helpful with organising the menu and making an adjustments for one of the kids who had an egg allergy. She also helped us with the party set up and made everything run smoothly and completely stress-free. A very big thank you to Kim who was so kind and had made some lovely party bags for my daughter. Such a lovely surprise! Thank you for making my daughter's birthday so wonderful! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone!”
