Customer Review Summary
Food is the main draw, with reviewers calling it delicious and naming the tiger prawn and crab linguine, the Kings Arms cheeseburger, duck and risotto, plus a banana cake with banoffee and a lemon and blueberry Eton mess for dessert. Close behind come the friendly staff and the cosy, historic pub feel. Also mentioned are good beer and a specials board with options not seen in most pubs. The garden is described as good for families and dogs, and one reviewer mentions a play area. Value and portions drew the criticism. One reviewer found the bill steep for two people having soup, a burger and cheesecake, and called the double vodka and tonics overpriced. Another thought the Sunday roast was ok but no different from other pub grub, with portions on the smaller side. Sunday lunch visitors describe a packed room that stayed full from arrival to departure, with dogs on leads and well behaved in the garden.

“Dropped in over the weekend and have to say the food is spot on. Whatever you order from the menu you won’t be disappointed and it will be fully delicious. Can’t wait to go back and work my way down the menu.”

“Had a nice roast. The food was Ok but doesn't stand out from any other pub grub, I thought the portions were on the smaller side, not tiny though. The parkings busy on a Sunday but the boss does a great job of squeezing people in, fair play to him. The staff were great and couldn't do more for you and with a smile. The pub garden is good for families and dogs - if you cant enjoy your food with babies crying and dogs barking you may have an issue here.”

“We went here for dinner over Easter weekend and it was our first time visiting. As soon as we arrived the place felt really warm and cosy. I loved that they’ve kept the interior quite classic, it gives that old school charm. We ordered the tiger prawn and crab linguine, the Kings Arms cheeseburger, duck, and risotto and honestly, everything was so good. We didn’t leave a single crumb. For dessert they had banana cake with banoffee and it was chef’s kiss. I can be quite picky with food, but this one really hit, not too sweet topped with dark chocolate just perfect (and when an Asian says “not too sweet,” you know it’s a legit compliment 😄). We also tried the lemon and blueberry Eton mess, which was just as good light, fresh, and not overly sweet. We were really impressed with the whole experience. The staff was attentive as well Definitely coming back, would 100% recommend!”
