About The Coast
The Coast is a southern Italian restaurant at 4 The Village in Macclesfield, built around a love of Italy's Amalfi coast. The menu starts with a chicken liver pâté, moves to risotto including a smoked salmon version, and includes tiramisu among the desserts. Afternoon tea is served with prosecco and cocktails. Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return most for the private dining rooms, with several describing birthday, wedding and family celebrations upstairs and praising how the team helped plan the menu, decorate the room and keep drinks topped up, and one noting the chefs made a large tiramisu. Close behind is the Italian food: smoked salmon risotto, lobster ravioli, porchetta, a cod dish, pizza and chicken pate, with tiramisu and affogato singled out among the desserts. Afternoon tea with cakes and prosecco also earns praise. Service is described as friendly and attentive, and one party arriving early was seated at once on a busy Saturday night. The caveats are specific. One diner found the chicken liver pate unappetising and said the chocolate orange bread and butter pudding went down badly with those who ordered it, while another reviewer's husband was unimpressed with his shrimp starter and lasagna. One also warns of limited parking at the restaurant's own site, with a paid village car park nearby. Several describe sitting outside for coffee or being moved to a sunny front table.

“We booked that private upstairs dining area for a large family meal. The communication in preparation with Gilda was brilliant and she went above and beyond to make the day special (by making seating name cards, confetti on the drinks table and helping plan a special cake). The service was brilliant. Importantly, the food was delicious! The chefs also made a large tiramisu for us. We had the use of the balcony which was extra special because it was a beautiful sunny day. Highly recommend Coast. Thank you xx”

“I recently celebrated my 30th birthday with 22 of my closest family and friends in the private dining area and had the most amazing evening. The team were incredibly accommodating, particularly with helping us organise the menu for our group. Everyone commented on how amazing the food was. A special mention has to go to Owen, who was absolutely fantastic throughout the whole evening. He looked after us, organised everything on the night and genuinely couldn’t do enough for us. He also took care of all the drinks order, which meant everyone could stay seated and enjoy the evening without having to keep getting up to order. Nothing was ever too much trouble! Blair & Gilda were brilliant with the set-up. They offered flexible timings on the day, allowed us plenty of time to get everything ready, and were equally accommodating when it came to packing everything away afterwards. We were able to decorate the private dining room exactly how we wanted, which made it feel really personal and special. The new terrace was also perfect for the evening, and having the toilets upstairs was an added bonus for a private event like this. Overall, it was such a special way to celebrate my 30th birthday, and I’m so glad we chose to have it here. Amazing food, a beautiful space and brilliant staff, especially Owen. Thank you!”

“We have now been to Coast for lunch four times in the last few months and each time have found it to be very special. Service is excellent if you are having a meal or just a drink. We came with our family a few weeks ago and the food was so delicious my wife and I decided to come back again today. It wasn’t disappointing. I had smoked salmon risotto which was amazing with a side order of zucchini. My wife had prawn and salmon salad which was delicious. Had a bottle of rose wine which complemented the meal. Afterwards we wanted to sit outside for our coffee and affogato which was also fabulous. The whole experience was delightful.”

“Celebrated family birthdays there last Sunday. There were16 of us.I really enjoyed my chicken pate and lobster ravioli. My husband wasn’t too impressed with his shrimp starter and lasagna unfortunately. The staff were very friendly and attentive I would recommend the Coast”

“We decided to celebrate our legal wedding ceremony in the private dining room at the Coast, and wow, what an amazing experience it was. The staff were so attentive making sure we were always topped up with drinks and the quality of the food was incredible. An absolutely beautiful setting for such a lovely occasion. I am so thankful we chose to have it there and can’t think of anything that would have made the day better. Big thank you to Blair and the team! 💒💍”
