About The Longniddry Inn
The Longniddry Inn is a family restaurant and pub in Longniddry, set in a former blacksmith shop on Main St. The building keeps its original Smithy fireplace, sandstone brickwork and high wooden beams. The kitchen runs a pub grub menu, with haggis, neeps and tatties as a main and fish and chips that can be ordered breaded instead of battered. Sticky toffee pudding is among the desserts. Dogs are welcome in the Stable's Bar, so owners can bring them along for a meal. A function venue on site hosts weddings, birthdays and other celebrations.

Customer Review Summary
Haggis, neeps and tatties draws the most enthusiasm, with one diner recommending it alongside the haggis bon bon starter and a first-timer saying they absolutely loved it. Close behind are sticky toffee pudding and cheesecake, plus a mac and cheese one reviewer calls the best they have had and breaded fish and chips that pleased one family. Several describe friendly, patient staff who were good with kids. Service is the recurring caveat. Reviewers describe too few hands on the floor, with one waitress covering orders, drinks and food while another stayed at the bar, and a long wait between courses. A harsher review found the steak pie warm rather than hot and the chips undercooked and sparse. One table only received drinks after asking again once the meal had arrived, then waited again for someone to return after the bill came.

“Booked in at Longniddry Inn for dinner with the Mrs and kids. Was a little apprehensive at first but that soon disappeared. Recent 1 star reviews don't match my experience. In particular the service was 1st class. Natasha our server was super friendly and paid great attention without being overbearing. She was excellent with the kids and nothing too much trouble. Special thanks to Natasha. The food too was really top quality. I'd certainly recommend the Neeps, Tatties and Haggis Main and Haggis Bon Bon starter. Desserts hit the spot too. Would definitely recommend The Longniddery Inn.”

“Found this place by chance on line and booked for two. Nice place inside, spacious with clean tables. The food was very nice and decent sized portions. A young very petite waitress served us but she was excellent at her job and friendly as well. I'd recommend this place for Lunch or Dinner 😊”

“Came in for family friday night dinner with my Husband,Daughter and her Fiancé, food had no faults however 3 members of staff on and only one waitress was taking orders/ drinks/ food whilst one never moved from the bar whilst kitchen was calling/ other tables to order. Attitude from the rest of the staff tho was outstanding which completely made up for the decent wait between courses and we were checked on at every opportunity the waitress had with a smile on her face the whole time. Wish we had time for dessert as they looked fantastic !!!! Will definitely be back”

“The food was excellent. We went on a sunday for roast dinner. Portion size was good. The puddings were great. Can't fail with sticky toffee pudding. It was a delight. Service I have to say there is room for improvement. The staff themselves were very nice and extremely friendly but, somewhat disorganised. We didnt receive our drinks until I asked for them again once our meal was served. Then when we were finished we asked for the bill and received it to then wait for an age for someone to come back. Issue was 5 or so staff on the floor but working every area. It was quiet enough for 1 person per area. This is long winded but I would not mark down less as it is a simple issue to address and we were not unhappy as the staff were so lovely!”

“During our recent holiday in Scotland me, my husband and our 4 year old daughter came for dinner here twice (and if we had discovered the place sooner it would have been a lot more!) the food is delicious! Genuinely some of the best meals we have had in the area and considering the quality we found the price reasonable too. Service was wonderful, we had the pleasure of the same waitress both times and she was so lovely, patient and friendly. I would also recommend their cheesecake to anyone! It was delicious. Thank you so much to all the staff at The Longniddry inn, you are fab!”

Highlights
“The renowned Longniddry Inn has been serving the community for over 50 years. Once a blacksmith shop and cottages for local residents, the building retains charming features from the past, including sandstone brickwork, high wooden beams, and the original Smithy fireplace. Situated along the coastal route, we are easily accessible from Edinburgh by both rail and road. The nearby coast offer beautiful beaches and famous golf courses. We are loved by both locals and visitors, featuring a hearty menu of pub food and traditional favorites. We are family-friendly, and dogs are warmly welcomed in our Stable's Bar. We also have a beautiful function venue where we can deliver your perfect wedding, birthday or any other special day.”
