  “I ordered the battered sausage chips nuggets and curry sauce it was very delicious the only complaint I had was towards the curry sauce it wasn’t as thick and rich as the one I usually like and tasted more store bought but overall would definitely recommend this place”

  “Been coming here for over 35 years. Travelling up to see family or for a holiday- this place is one of my first stops and a treat. Family run business- owner has served us for decades. Fish suppers are delicious. No where else compares.”

  “I had a terrible experience at this chip shop. It was pouring down with rain so my partner stayed in the car whilst I popped in to ask whether their chips were vegan friendly (sometimes they are). They told me that everything is cooked in animal fat but they could make him a pizza. I asked if that meant they had vegan cheese/toppings to which he said no, it would have just been a pizza base with vegetables on it. The owner was speaking to me with a cold tone, as was the female who was with him, which made me feel a bit confused and uncomfortable. I appreciated the effort to come up with something for him but i knew that there were other options around that would have been better for him. I popped back to the car to let him know and then I came back to get some fish and chips for myself. I asked what fish they have and he said haddock, but the price for haddock and chips was just a bit more than I could afford. So I then asked what fish was in their fishcake. I was met with the most disgusting tone as I was told that they have no idea what fish is in their fish cakes as they don’t make them themselves and they get them in frozen. At this point I was just not comfortable at all and said ok I’ll just have chips with curry sauce. For some reason the owner brought over chips with sauce and also a haddock and chips. I said oh no sorry it was just chips and sauce that I wanted. He rudely answered that I had asked for haddock (I had not). He then asked if I wanted salt and vinegar and I was smiling and answered politely yes, lots please. He drowned the chips in vinegar and then put one shake of salt on my chips. So I then said ‘please could I have a bit more salt’ in the most friendly tone I could. He looked me dead in the eyes and turned the salt shaker upside down and just held it there as the salt poured out onto one section of my chips and then he slammed it down and gave me them. Clearly he was mad as he misheard and thought that I had asked for the haddock and chips. But the truth is that I genuinely didn’t and I did not deserve the be treated with such passive aggression. I felt extremely uncomfortable and also really put off by the fact that they have no idea themselves what is even in their fishcakes. I come from an family of fish and chip shop owners and that is really bizarre to me. The chips themselves were also not pleasant. I’ll not be returning.”

  “It's busy but this shows you how well loved this fish and chip restuarant is. Lovely food. Fresh and superb quality! The atmosphere inside is great. Friendly and fast service. I've been going for years and will be back soon.”

  “Best hot fresh chips I've had in years, fish was nice & lightly battered. Food was a bit expensive but portion size was good. Staff were friendly & polite.”

  “We had friends visiting and they wanted to try Fish and Chips and so we chose here, my great aunt is a huge fan too! But this was my first time and I have to say I'm smitten! Food cooked to order, really fresh and the lightest batter I have ever had. Chatty friendly family at the counter, I'll come again.”

  “Stopped here for a quick meal while visiting North Berwick and sat outside with my dog. I had fried pizza and chips while my companion had fried chicken and chips. Service was friendly and straightforward, and the food was decent enough for a casual seaside lunch. Convenient stop if you want something simple near the seafront.”

  “I ordered cheesy chips nuggets coke and onion rings this is what I got basically just chips I have had cheesy chips before and they had loads this time there was hardly a dash of cheese and some of the onion rings had no onion quite upset as I love cheesy chips”

  “Ordered takeaway fish & chips at 6pm - was told it would be 4-5 mins as their food was “cooked to order”. The fish didn’t look or taste fresh and the chips were cold and looked like they had been left over from lunchtime. Including a can of juice the bill was £14.20! Very poor, and naturally I won’t be back.”
