Quaywest Wine Bar & Restaurant is a modern European restaurant at 28 Boating Club Ln in Londonderry, where a bar and a mezzanine restaurant share a 19th-century building. Both a lunchtime menu and an evening menu are offered. Nachos arrive as a starter to share, served as chips with a chili-style dip. Mains include pork ribs and a chicken and ham pie in a creamy sauce, and vegetarian options sit on the menu as well. A boozy brunch with cocktails rounds out the week's offering. Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often praise friendly, helpful staff, with the food a close second. Diners single out the pork ribs, the steak, the chicken melt with white sauce and the chicken and ham pie with its creamy sauce, and the nachos are called pretty good by one group. The fried brie earns a top mark from another. Several say the prices are reasonable, and one calls the lunchtime menu outstanding value. A party of 16 notes the food mostly arriving on time, with a short wait for two dishes, and the Cajun chicken a little too spicy for one diner. The caveats are specific. One reviewer found the nachos to be chips with a chili-style dip, the bruschetta cold with scant cheese, and the price high for the presentation. Another had overcooked veg with an off taste, and staff offered an alternative quickly. A third found the food a bit cold, the stuffing forgotten and the tart apples freezing in the middle, yet still plans to return.

“Top quality restaurant! My wife and I stopped by when we came to do our Derry Girls lookaround. Found this place after we checked out the Amelia Earhart memorial (my wife's family is from Amelia Earhart's hometown in Kansas and I am from England). Food quality here was superb, clearly fresh made food and served piping hot. Wait staff were very friendly, pricing was exceptional. We'll be coming back next time we come to Derry”

“We were recommended to come here by the hosts of our accommodation when we asked for affordable and delicious options. This was not it! This restaurant is by far on the upper end of the average budget, and does not exactly check the boxes for an upscale dining experience. We opted for a beer and a few apps to split. The nachos were just chips (crisps) and a dip which was really just a chili con carne without the beans. The bruschetta was a fairly cold yet toasted slide of bread, scarce amounts of cheese. The fried brie was 10/10, but the sauce and bread were a miss. The presentation was also not comparable to the price. Service was excellent, however, and the service was non-invasive and respectful.”
