About 3 Mien
3 Mien is a Vietnamese restaurant at 64 Middlesex St in London, set in a compact diner-style room with hand-painted walls and music. The menu centres on bun cha, the pork vermicelli dish, and Saigon crispy chicken rice bowls served with sticky rice and salad. Pho, including a beef version, rounds out the main dishes. The small room gives the kitchen a short, focused format. The restaurant sits near Petticoat Lane market, a 5 minute walk from Aldgate station.

Customer Review Summary
Pho draws the most mentions. One diner calls the broth the best among nearby Vietnamese places and describes the rare beef as tender, while others call it very good and pair it with an excellent green papaya salad. Bun cha comes close behind, described as consistently good, with smoky meats, delicious sauces and fresh vegetables. The Saigon crispy chicken rice bowl also earns praise for sticky rice, loads of chicken and a salad with bits of mango, and a fried chicken curry is called quite spicy. Reviewers describe large portions, fast and friendly service, and a small, relaxed room with hand painted walls. The criticism is specific. One diner found the crispy pork rice plate far from the usual fish sauce and rice combination, with a sauce on the dish and salad that tasted like teriyaki. A delivery customer said the pho arrived with most of the broth spilled and no hoisin or sriracha, and preferred the restaurant visits.

“My favorite Vietnamese restaurant in London. I’ve visited 3 times — including lunch, group dinner and takeaway. Consistently good bun cha and fast service. It’s near petticoat lane market and a 5min walk from Aldgate station.”

“Not authentic viet food. Some weird fusion flavor, I’ve never had such terrible food from a viet restaurant before. I ordered the crispy pork rice plate, and it wasn’t what I was expecting. I was imagining the regular fish sauce and rice plate combo setup you find at all other Vietnamese restaurants. Other than that, the dish tasted terrible, especially the sauce on the dish. Seems like teriyaki sauce?? All over the salad as well. Teriyaki salad, yum…”
