  “Really disappointed. Based on the reviews, photos of the food and actually stood ordering in the shop - I was really excited to try a schnitzel sandwich. However when it came the sandwich, the chicken was very poor. Visually the meat was slightly translucent in places and the breaded part was a mixture of burnt and underdone. It was so unappealing I removed half the chicken in the sandwich. What I did eat had a stringy, rubbery texture. The bread was okay, but quite oily. The other elements of the sandwich were just okay, but when the chicken was so bad it left little room for enjoyment. My colleague, who also ate there, spent most of the afternoon feeling unwell. All in all quite disappointing. Would I go back? No I wouldn’t. However with a few tweaks (like better quality and better cooked chicken) I can see how this place would be brilliant.”

  “Best schnitzel sandwich I’ve ever had - truly delicious! Was so good I didn’t put it down to take a photo. Filled with delicious chicken, fresh slaw and mayo on a soft focaccia. You couldn’t ask for any better!”

  “Feasted on some iconic schnitzels sandwiches. These are local, homemade at Jonnys. Can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. We halved two, a pesto style and coleslaw style. All in all, great value, service and food. Sit outside in summer or spring. Seating indoors is very limited.”

  “God that sandwich! I’ll be thinking about that sandwich for a long time. Can tell it’s all fresh ingredients, and the schnitzels are made to order rather than sitting in a window all day. Really nice deli spot. Salad boxes looked packed out as well. Had the carrot cake also which was perfect. 11/10”

  “A must go address for delicious breakfast lovers. Staffs are so kind, atmosphere is so great, in the Islington district and food is amazingly good. I went there this morning for the third time and I love this place. Thank you to the owners to make my days starting in the best ways !”

  “This deli is within walking distance from my office so I’ve bought lunch from them for a fair few times. I usually go for their “Johnny Schnitzel Special”, it has been consistently delicious, always very generously filled, a good balance of lots of chicken and lots of coleslaw. I had their sandwich with prosciutto once and that was slightly too rich / intense for me as work lunch (also because of its large portion size as well…), but I definitely enjoyed the flavours a lot. Hints & tips - try to go before 12:10, otherwise the queue could get a little long. Worth the wait though 😎”

  “Really glad I stumbled on this shop! A nice little corner shop nestled away from the pandemonium of Kings Cross station. Beautifully made schnitzel sandwiches and salads and super friendly staff. The deli has an arrangement of food that suits lunch time. Take away or eat there on one of the tables out the front. I had a pesto schnitzel pasta salad, the pesto was delicious and tasted home made.”
