Customer Review Summary

Cocktails draw the most praise at The Soak. Reviewers single out a salted caramel espresso martini and bourbon drinks, and describe the creations as well balanced and visually striking. Close behind is the food, where sea bass, pork belly, fish and chips with a light, crisp batter, and the katsu curry are named repeatedly, along with the Soak burger, dumplings, and a breakfast menu of Eggs Benedict and American pancakes with fried chicken. The kids' menu is praised for proper portions and value. Service is described as friendly and attentive, and the room as beautiful, airy, and full of florals. The kitchen draws mixed verdicts, though. One reviewer found the katsu curry dry, another called the rib-eye chewy and the creamed spinach watery, and a diner found the pork belly pieces dry. One reviewer says no dessert menu was offered after the table was cleared, and another wishes the music were quieter. Still, one table received a flaming birthday cake, called a very sweet gesture.

“The Soak at The Clermont Victoria was one of the culinary highlights of our trip to London. While the food was excellent, what truly made our experience exceptional was the outstanding service and genuine hospitality from the team. A special thank you to George, Pedro, Mohammad, Antony, and Sammy, who consistently went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Their professionalism, warmth, attention to detail, and friendly personalities turned every meal into a memorable experience. They anticipated our needs, made thoughtful recommendations, and created the kind of atmosphere that keeps you coming back. The new breakfast menu was fantastic. The bacon and cheese omelette was perfectly prepared and served with a fresh salad, toast, and delicious jams. The Eggs Benedict was rich and beautifully executed, while the American pancakes topped with crispy fried chicken and bacon were a wonderfully indulgent treat. The caramel latte was incredibly creamy, smooth, and absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed dinner at The Soak and were equally impressed. The pork belly was outstanding, the penne pasta was flavorful and comforting, and the traditional English fish and chips were cooked to perfection with a light, crisp batter. Their bourbon drinks were excellent, but what really stole the show was the phenomenal presentation of the drinks. Every cocktail felt like an experience in itself. They were creative, beautifully crafted, and visually stunning. The salted caramel espresso martini was the perfect finale to a wonderful meal. It’s rare to find a place where the quality of the food, creativity of the drinks, and level of service all exceed expectations, but The Soak delivers on every front. George, Pedro, Antony, Mohammad, and Sammy deserve special recognition for making our visit so memorable. We can’t wait to return and would highly recommend The Soak to anyone visiting London.”

“We had a lovely experience with all the servers and staff that we encountered. The food was delicious and there were ample serving sizes. I do wish that the music was quieter as it was at times difficult to have a conversation without having to yell.”
