About The Ivy Cafe Wimbledon Village

The Ivy Cafe Wimbledon Village is a British restaurant in London, set at 75 High St and open in Wimbledon Village since 2016. The kitchen cooks British food, and the team serves guests at the table. Lunch includes a two-course "1917" menu, which gives midday diners a fixed two-course format to order from. Mains come without side dishes, so sides are a separate order, and guests add them to a main as they choose. Bar seating is also part of the room.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the service, with servers praised as attentive, friendly and professional, and one bartender-side seat at the bar described as having faultless table service. Celebrations feature heavily, from birthdays to an anniversary, and staff are said to have congratulated one diner on her due date and helped her avoid the stairs. On the food, diners name the filet steak with truffle and parmesan triple cooked chips, and the two course 1917 menu with French onion soup, shepherds pie and sea bream. Pâté with brioche also gets a mention, and one reviewer calls the breakfast menu wonderful, served efficiently without feeling hurried. Several describe the atmosphere as lovely. The main complaint comes from one family whose experience slipped after the original waiter finished his shift. They waited a long time for the bill, and a child's juice was charged separately even though they say they had been told it came with the children's meal. One diner also notes that sides must be ordered separately with the mains.

“Had a great experience at this restaurant. The food and atmosphere were excellent, but what really stood out was the service from Caine. He was extremely attentive, professional, friendly, and made sure everything was taken care of throughout our visit. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and his attention to detail really made the experience special. Excellent service from start to finish Caine is a credit to the restaurant. Highly recommended!”

“I had a lovely solo date, and the food was absolutely amazing, highly recommend the filet steak and truffle & parmesan triple cooked chips. My waiter was Orlando and he was absolutely fabulous, so sweet, attentive and professional I’ll be coming back just for him! I’ve tried many Ivy restaurants but this one has topped them all. Huge thanks to Orlando again for looking after me.”

“What a treat to have breakfast here before a day at Wimbledon LTA. The ivy never fails us. Menu is wonderful and food served efficiently, but not so efficiently you feel hurried. On a sunny day, without day one of the best places to enjoy breakfast in Wimbledon.”

“We had a great experience until our original waiter finished his shift. After that, the service went downhill. We waited over 20 minutes for our bill, and the waitress avoided making eye contact with us the entire time. Eventually, my husband had to walk over and ask for the bill himself. She simply told him to “wait at your table,” even though we had already been waiting for a long time. When the bill finally arrived, we noticed that my son’s juice had been charged separately. Our original waiter had clearly told us that the drink was included with the children’s meal. When I questioned the charge, the waitress insisted that it had to be charged separately. I almost asked her to bring the kids’ menu to confirm what it actually included. It’s a shame because our meal and the service at the beginning were excellent, but the poor service at the end left us with a disappointing final impression.”

“I had a wonderful time at The Ivy in Wimbledon Village, as always. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was lovely, and it's one of those places I genuinely enjoy coming back to time and time again. A special mention to Norbi, who was incredibly welcoming and attentive and made the experience even more enjoyable. Great service really does make a difference.”
