Quick info
About The Blue Room
The Blue Room is a modern European restaurant on Manwood Rd in London, serving dinner by appointment. Its lunch offers a jerk alternative to a roast, built around jerk chicken with mac and cheese and rice and peas. Dinners are BYOB, so guests bring their own drinks to the table. The dining space is very small, and the chef comes to the table to explain the dishes. Catering services run alongside the restaurant for those who want the kitchen's food elsewhere. The menu changes monthly.

Customer Review Summary
The jerk Sunday lunch is what most reviewers return for, with jerk chicken served alongside mac and cheese, rice and peas, and crispy coleslaw, finished with rum carrot cake. Diners call the portions generous, and one could not finish theirs. Close behind are the evening tasting menus, where reviewers single out the pumpkin soup starter, mushroom parfait, ribeye steak with homemade chips, and a dessert plate with bay leaf pannacotta and chocolate cremeux. Several describe a small, cosy room and a home-like feel, with the chef coming to the table to explain the dishes and conversation flowing between fellow diners. Menus are said to change monthly. Reviewers note the place gets booked up, and several suggest reserving in advance, with one adding that diners bring their own drinks. No review raises a complaint. One diner closes on the homemade truffles that arrived at the end of the meal.

“Love this venue. Went to an LGBTQI BFI event and can say this place is amazing. Cafes, bars, screening rooms, seminar rooms and a red carpet as well. The location is perfect for a walk along the Thames afterwards.”

“Excellent good quality ingredients cooked to perfection, easily on par with anything up town. But the added benefit of a very small cosy atmosphere. A lovely evening.....we'll be back!”

“The food at The Blue Room is OUTSTANDING. I cannot fault the food, service and friendliness of this little gold nugget tucked away in deepest south east London. I very much appreciated when Sonia came to our table and explained what were the dishes in front of us. I was especially impressed with the pumpkin soup starter; absolutely scrumptious. Make sure you book your place. Relax.......and enjoy fine dining.😊”

“We have never been disappointed by the beautiful food at The Blue Room, by master chef Sonia and her dedicated team. We’ve had evening meals at the blue room and have just today tried the jerk Sunday lunch which went down a storm with our boys and us. Wonderfully presented, generous portions. Highly recommended”

“Well what can I say? I was invited to dine at this very exquisite and original boutique restaurant by it's executive chef, Sonia. It was her night off but the delicacies served were very typical of this must reserve dining establishment. The menu consisted of: Roasted tomato & aubergine pasta shells with charred goats cheese and deep fried rocket. Ribeye steak & homemade chips, roasted mushrooms, garlic spinach, onion rings & peppercorn & tarragon sauce Dessert plate of bay leaf pannacotta, rhubarb & hibiscus sorbet, chocolate cremeux, white chocolate fudge, candied pistachio & cocoa crumbs! Now how does all that sound? I call tell you that the food was Outstanding (with a capital O). Too much food to rate each dish individually but no more words needed other than 5* 😋”
