Customer Review Summary
Grilled meat anchors the praise, with reviewers singling out tender, juicy charcoal-grilled lamb and a mixed grill of lamb and chicken described as juicy and smoky. Close behind are the meze and salads, including tzatziki, tabbouleh with pomegranate kernels, lentil soup and lahmacun, along with warm flatbread and pide. Portions are called generous, and one reviewer says the platter for three could feed six. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and attentive, including toward a party of 11 and a diner new to Turkish cuisine who had the menu explained. The complaints are specific. One reviewer found the lamb doner and iskender fatty and oily, in small broken pieces that looked undercooked, and left the dish unfinished. Another ordered a Muska Boregi that never arrived and was brought hummus and chicken instead, which was still charged. One finds the cocktails too sweet. One reviewer advises booking ahead for Friday evenings and weekends. Two reviewers mention the complimentary Turkish tea served after the meal.

“Shout out to Musa. I came last night with my family and Musa took such great care of us. Definitely my best experience at Gokyuzu because of him. He is a credit to the team and I hope the business knows how great of a staff member they have. Everyone that worked there was lovely and most importantly the food was REALLY good”

“This comment is just for the lamb doner and iskender since we havent tried other dish. The restaurant vibe is very good, clean, the portions are quite good. But the main problems are the taste. They were too fatty and oily, small/broken up pieces (it could stem from lamb idk) and it looks undercooked. It might be the first time i left my dish i paid for in a restaurant. For 2 people one doner, one iskender one ayran we paid above 50 Pounds. I m sure other dishes taste much better since they have this rating and popularity.”

“Brilliant meal at Gokyuzu! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ From the fresh, vibrant meze and creamy tzatziki to the perfectly spiced lahmacun and the incredible mixed grill — every dish was packed with authentic, delicious flavour. The flatbread was warm and soft, the meats juicy and smoky, and the service was friendly and attentive throughout. Great atmosphere, top-quality food — easily one of the best Turkish restaurants in London. We’ll absolutely be returning!”

“Lovely food really juicy well seasoned grilled meat. The platter for three can be for 6 people . The cocktails can be less sweet. Someone got carried away on the syrups”

“I’ve visited Gokyuzu Park Royal many times over the years, and it has consistently been one of my favourite Turkish restaurants in London. To be honest, the lamb dishes here are outstanding. The meat is always tender, juicy, and full of flavour, with that wonderful charcoal-grilled aroma that keeps me coming back. Every time I visit, the quality has been consistently good. The service is also excellent. The staff are friendly, attentive, and work hard even when the restaurant is busy. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, making it a great place for family dinners, gatherings with friends, or special occasions. One piece of advice: if you’re planning to visit on a Friday evening or during the weekend, make sure to book in advance. The restaurant is extremely popular, and without a reservation, you may end up waiting quite a while for a table. Overall, great food, great service, and a fantastic atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic and delicious Turkish cuisine.”
