Quick info
About FM Mangal
Family-run for more than 16 years, FM Mangal is a Turkish restaurant in London at 54 Camberwell Church St. Bread comes to the table, and the starter is a grilled onion dip served in its own juices. Among the mains are Lamb Adana and the FM Mangal Special, which pairs grilled lamb with aubergine. The dining space is split into several separate areas, including an upstairs room, so the restaurant can seat parties in different parts of the building. The meal ends with complimentary extras, including baklava and amaretto.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the bread and the grilled or roast onion in its juices, served as a starter, with several mentioning it arrives free or as a standout. The FM Mangal special with grilled lamb and aubergine is close behind, described as out of this world and called a must have, alongside the Lamb Adana, mix grill and Turkish pizza. Baklava is called outstanding, and a couple of diners received free baklava, amaretto or extras at the end. Rice and salads draw praise for flavour and texture, and cocktails are called great. Service is described as friendly, attentive without intrusion and welcoming, with a few mentioning the upstairs and outside seating. The recurring complaint is portion size: two reviewers found the Adana small for what it cost, one saying the lamb kebab was a smaller version, though freebies made it enough. One found the Adana a touch salty, one wanted sharper knives, and one waitress forgot to hand over the lunch menu until asked. One reviewer noted the toilets were clean but compact.

“Very nice restaurant in the heart of camberwell, first time I've visited and I would say I have had a positive experience. The food was delicious and I would say the staff ate very friendly and nice. Would definitely recommend!”

“Had a lovely meal here. The special onion dip with the bread was amazing for starters and the Adana main was tasty too but pretty small in size considering how much it cost. Got some free baklava and amaretto at the end and the service was great too. Would go again at some point!”

“What a find! The reviews on other sites are accurate. I loved thewhole experiemce. Staff were attentive and ordered an item of the lunch menu. I was given a dish of roast onion in a sauce for free, with some bread, which was quite superb! The lamb kebab was ludicrously cheap at £12.50 it was a smaller version, but after the freebies it was more than enough. Well cooked and presented, toilets clean but quite "compact". My single moan, sharpen the knives! Further visit 11.09.26 Waitress forgot to give me the lunch menu so I asked. Equally good visit varied the main. Still exceptional!”

“Tuesday lunchtime, not busy, friendly waitress and great food. The fm mangal special in the house specials section is a must have, and the bread and turkish pizza are a delight.”
