About Durak Tantuni
Durak Tantuni is a Turkish restaurant in London, at 390 W Green Rd, built around a single dish. Tantuni is the only item served, made fresh to order in front of the customer as a wrap of minced lamb with chopped tomatoes, onions, parsley and spices. The same filling can also come in bread. Fresh green chillies, peppers and lemon arrive alongside, and ayran is available to drink. The space is small and simple, with indoor seating, and the restaurant is open daily. Payment is cash only, and a cash machine sits at the Sainsbury's round the corner.

Customer Review Summary
Tantuni is the one dish reviewers come for, a lamb wrap made to order in front of the diner. Several call it just like Istanbul, with juicy, spicy lamb, chopped tomatoes, onions and parsley, and no sauces. Close behind is the welcome, with the owner described as friendly and a local legend, and a young staff member at the till called welcoming and funny. Fresh green chillies, lemon and peppers come alongside, and a few pair the wrap with a glass of Ayran. The recurring caveat is size. One reviewer found the wrap dry and paper-like, though the juices helped, and another says one wrap is not enough for a proper lunch, so a second wrap is suggested by some. Reviewers also describe the room as simple, with plenty of seats, and say it is quick, with one calling it fish and chips shop vibes. A late-night visitor notes it serves fresh food into the early hours, and one diner describes eating a single wrap and wanting ten more.

“Wow wow wow. Never didn’t think a wrap of this size contains so much authentic flavours! Can you imagine, they sell 1 item all day? Very flavourful and a great price. The shop also closed extremely late (3am) but always serves fresh food. Will definitely be coming back!”

“The food is great, here. Served right in front of you, with fresh salad and well cooked/flavoured meat. Tastes amazing, but would definitely recommend getting the second wrap - the portion sizes are quite small. Great for a quick takeaway in the area! Sideroads have parking restrictions, food is halal.”

“This is a place worth traveling for, they do the best tantuni I have ever had, small place but an absolute must”

“Must visit place in London if you love food. It's cash only! They serve one dish and one dish only, how many places like that you can find? Everything is prepared fresh and made-to-order. They even have their own Aryan. Filling of wrap: lamb, chopped tomatoes, onions, parsley, bit of salt, chili, that's all. Simplicity at its best. Wrap itself is rather dry, paper-like in touch, which was surprising but it's served with peppers and lemons, so you can squeeze a juice out of it. Owner is great, truly local legend from what I've managed to spot when sitting inside. Wish him all the best in those hard for hospitality times. One wrap is not enough if you'd like a proper lunch but as a filling snack it works fine. Honestly I'm surprised how good it was, it's delicate flavours, no sauces, just a little juice from the fry pan he uses for meat. Decor is very simple, lots of seats inside, gives me fish&chips store vibes. Highest recommendation from me.”

“Durak Tantuni keeps it simple and absolutely nails it. We tried the single tantunis and they were so good that we easily could have eaten ten more. Perfectly seasoned, incredibly satisfying, and dangerously easy to devour. I loved that the menu focuses on essentially one item and just does it really, really well. No distractions, no gimmicks, just great food executed with confidence. One thing to keep in mind: the restaurant is cash only, so plan ahead. Totally worth it though. This is the kind of place you will be thinking about long after the last bite.”
