Customer Review Summary
Grilled meats and kebabs dominate the praise here, with the lamb ribs, the yoğurtlu adana, and the mixed grill platter singled out repeatedly, alongside the mega plate for two and its salads and fresh bread. Several reviewers also flag the sarma veggie beyti and the kuru fasulye as standouts, and many describe complimentary extras like Turkish tea, dessert, or a starter arriving unasked. Service draws a split reaction: many call it warm and efficient, with staff bringing free tea and desserts and checking back on tables, but others describe it as hit and miss during busy periods, with one solo diner reporting a server who was dismissive and slow, food arriving incomplete, and no follow-up at the table. A few note the room is loud and tightly packed, one disliking the lack of privacy and the tea not served in a refillable jug, and another feeling the sucuk lahmacun at sixteen pounds was overpriced despite tasting good. One reviewer also mentions the restaurant only accepting cash. Several say they return specifically for the grilled dishes and the complimentary tea and dessert that sometimes accompany a meal.

“Perhaps the best service amongst Haringey Turkish restaurants, ALL THE TEAM SO NICE. ALL their ingredients are fresh and good quality. best Kuru fasulye (traditional Turkish baked beans) 5* to the chef just for that alone, not to mention the amazing lamb shish kebab, I dont have time to write about everything else, you will not get disappointed, if you do , most probably it is you thing.”

“My Dad and I called in after a long day at the cricket. Although it was busy, we were soon shown to a table and found the service to be prompt and friendly throughout. We both had Lamb Shish, which was excellent, and were then given a small dessert and a Turkish tea on the house. Would definitely return 👍🏻”

“Diyarbakir is one of the best Turkish restaurants I’ve visited in London. The food is authentic, fresh, and full of flavor. The grilled meats are perfectly cooked, the portions are generous, and everything tastes homemade. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the service is always efficient even when the restaurant is busy. The atmosphere is warm and lively, making it a great place to enjoy a meal with family or friends. The prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. If you’re looking for authentic Turkish food in London, Diyarbakir is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended!”

“Went in for a quick lunch alone, I had waited 15 minutes before anyone came up to me to place my order. Had to request to be served, when the waitress approached me, I felt a negative vibe from her. She didn’t even let me finish my order before taking the menu and walking away. I had to take the menu from her and insist on finishing my order. She didn’t Seem to be bothered with serving me, I’m not one to complain but this is the first time I’ve experienced such hostile behaviour from a server. When I had eventually ordered, it took 20+ minutes for someone to notice that I had no food on my table. I witnessed customers who had come in after be served efficiently, which was disappointing. The lady who initially served me never came back to my table but I could see her being attentive to the other tables. Someone else had brought out my food and it wasn’t even my full order, I had to also remind them I ordered a drink as well. When I finished, no one came up to me to ask if the food was okay and to clear my table. Eventually I just got up and paid at the till. I don’t understand why I was treated differently compared to everyone else but it was clear as day. Every one should be treated equally. There seems to be a lack of training in basic customer service, especially the blonde woman who took my order. The food wasn’t great either”
