Customer Review Summary
The criticism is specific. One diner found the crab starter had hardly any crab and read like a mixed salad, with disappointing mains. Another called the rib eye and cheese board average for a premium price and had to ask for extra crackers. A crème brûlée was slightly overburnt on top. One event client says the quoted alcohol price was withdrawn, then the date was said to be taken by another booking after invitations had gone out.

“A real gem - with tables in the open courtyard - perfect for a summer evening. Food was excellent - and although we were a large group of 9 people, the service was also first-rate. Highloy recommended.”

“Really a poor effort for a French restaurant. Elaborate presentation of dishes with no substance. The crab started had hardly any crab in it, just a mix of other ingredients that seemed more like a mixed salad than anything else and frankly not a good mix of flavours. The main courses were also a disappointment. Shame because the outdoor yard is really nice, but even that could be rearranged to offer a slightly more exciting dinner experience. We won’t return.”

“I was in talks with the event team at Bleeding Heart for weeks. I decided all the canapes, bowl food, and alcohol for a lunch party for 80 people. We were spending double their minimum spend for the event. I asked in three emails to pay the deposit to lock it in, but they were waiting to let me know the price of a cake. Then today, they emailed back to tell me they could not honour the price they quoted me for alcohol and that everything was going to cost more. I rang them and asked what was going on and could they please honour the price originally quoted, as by now I had already sent out invitations (which, I know I should have waited for full confirmation, but we were just the price of a cake away). They then phone 10 minutes later to say that someone else has hired the space for that date and they cannot host the party anymore. Even though they had just emailed about moving forward with the increased price, now the whole date is not available. This is the kind of behaviour you are in for if you try to have an event with Bleeding Heart. Their team, and Amelia in particular, have no regard for changing these things last minute with no warning and wasting all the time, effort, and energy you've put into planning. Please be very wary of their business practices in advance.”

“The service was spot on, so friendly and attentive. We were so well looked after. The food was superb, a French bistro doing exactly that, we couldn't have asked for more. And the Tarte Tartin, well we have never had better. Thank you for making a birthday very memorable.”
