About The Fence, Farringdon
The Fence, Farringdon is a Fuller's pub and restaurant at 67-69 Cowcross St in London, close to Farringdon station and between Smithfield and Farringdon. The kitchen makes its pizza on the premises from scratch. The bar pours an Aperol Spritz and keeps a non-alcoholic menu that includes a passion fruit sunrise mocktail, though it serves no cask ale. At the back, a sun-trap garden holds a terrace and a garden hut, and both can be hired for events such as birthdays and hen parties. A pub quiz and a DJ run during the week. The Fence opens Monday to Saturday and closes on Sundays.

Customer Review Summary
Staff service is what reviewers raise most, with several praising bartenders and servers who checked in regularly, kept drinks full during a heatwave and stayed efficient when busy. One bartender also offered an accidentally made extra Aperol Spritz to a customer. Food comes close behind. One reviewer recommends the grill chicken burger, the prawn skewers and the passion fruit sunrise mocktail, and another says the from-scratch pizza was cooked to perfection. Groups who held a hen party in the garden hut and a 30th birthday on the terrace describe responsive event communication beforehand and a lively, spacious setting. A pub quiz and DJ nights also get a mention. Complaints are few. One reviewer notes there is no cask ale for real ale drinkers. Another reports being sold drinks shortly before a private booking closed the venue, with no warning, and says the bartender replied dismissively by pointing to the plastic cups provided. A manager then refunded the drink in full.

“just wanted to say a huge thank you to the lovely member of staff behind the bar today. She accidentally made an extra Aperol Spritz and very kindly offered it to me instead of letting it go to waste. It was such a thoughtful gesture and really made my day. The service was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely generous. It’s little acts of kindness like this that make a place stand out. I’ll definitely be coming back—thanks again for the fantastic hospitality!”
