About Bento Bab
Bento Bab is a compact Korean restaurant on Commercial St in London, open daily. Korean BBQ is cooked at the table with staff helping, and the menu pairs chicken galbi with beef bulgogi for it. Sushi sits alongside the Korean dishes. The kitchen also makes bibimbap, kimbab and kimchi jjigae, and staff show diners how to prepare and eat the makguksu. Banchan comes with meals, and the drinks list includes citrus tea and soju. Vegetarian and vegan options are on the menu for those who skip the BBQ. Korean music plays in the room, and the walls carry BTS pictures and South Korean cultural decorations.

Customer Review Summary
Tabletop Korean BBQ draws the most attention, with reviewers singling out chicken galbi and beef bulgogi and noting that staff help with the grilling. Kimbab, especially the beef version, comes close behind and is described as fresh in flavour. Others praise the beef dolsot bibimbap, the flame grilled beef BBQ bibim, soondooboo jigae with a rich prawn broth, kimchi jjigae, and the citrus tea. Several call the food authentic and delicious, with generous portions and excellent banchan. Complaints are few but specific. One reviewer says the kitchen smell lingered on their clothes and suggests better ventilation, another finds the seating at the back uncomfortable for big BBQ groups, and a third found the chocolate pistachio cake a bit too sweet. One reviewer suggests booking at weekends or coming early. Staff earn repeated praise as welcoming and friendly, from a server who showed a first-timer how to prep makguksu to a team that played a favourite group's music and photographed diners' plush toys.

“We absolutely love Bento Bab! We first came here a couple of months ago and ended up coming back twice this week—that should tell you how much we enjoyed it. The food is delicious and tastes authentic. The banchan were excellent, and we’ve enjoyed everything from the tabletop Korean BBQ to several other menu items. The citrus tea is an absolute keeper! Just as impressive as the food is the service. Everyone has been so welcoming, friendly, and professional, making every visit a great experience. If you’re looking for authentic Korean food in a welcoming atmosphere, I highly recommend Bento Bab. We’ll definitely be back!”

“Bento Bab Is our all time fav when we fancy Korean BBQ/ food. Kimbab is my fav. It has really fresh flavour with meat and healthy veg in it. Love it! We always do BBQ here too. We have tried all kinds of meat except lamb. Chicken galbi and beef bulgogi are must try! The service is excellent. They always serve you with a smile and they help you with the BBQ too. Inwon is so lovely and sweet :) You might need to make a booking at weekends or come early. One thing is that if you are a big group and you want to do BBQ, the seating at the back isn’t very comfy. Authentic Korean food and we will be back soon :) Gamsahamnida!!🥰”

“I had such a lovely experience here, and I just want to say a special thank you to Nora/management. From the moment we arrived, she was incredibly warm, kind, and welcoming to both me and my friend. She made us feel so comfortable and genuinely cared for. All of the staff were really kind and attentive, which made the atmosphere even more enjoyable, but Nora especially stood out and made our visit unforgettable. I had been having quite a difficult day, and her kindness completely turned it around. She went above and beyond, and it truly meant so much to me. Nora’s warmth, attentiveness, and beautiful personality made this visit so special. She didn’t just provide great service, she truly made my day. Thank you again, Nora!💜”

“We came here by accident seeking for food, curious and... this place is amazing! Food was great, the place was incredible and the service was so nice and lovely! When we came in the first thing we saw was BTS pictures on the wall - it's definitely place for Army! In that place I definitely felt like in Korea.. I highly recommend to come and try their KFC, kimchi jjigae and of course soju! We will definitely be back! 💜 폴란드 아미 💜”
