Customer Review Summary

The botanical decor draws the most comment, called stunning, beautiful, and quirky, with one reviewer likening the room to an aviary and another praising the toilets, corridors, and stairs as looking like a historic movie set. Cocktails come close behind, along with a brunch where reviewers liked bellini shots added to prosecco served in china tea pots, plus a club sandwich and a burger. Staff are repeatedly called welcoming and attentive, though one reviewer found the bar staff a little surly. The criticisms are specific. One says the plants are plastic, the prices very high, and the place nearly empty. Another found the high bar stools tight to climb on and off, the drinks sticky, and the music loud. One diner notes no Guinness zero and limited zero options. One reviewer describes being refused service at the bar after two bottles of prosecco and feeling insulted by the manager's explanation. A birthday group, meanwhile, recalls staff bringing shots and a special drink for the birthday girl.

“You are enveloped by a unique feeling of cosy opulence when you enter this tavern. Creatively decorated throughout. Staff behind the bar were a little surly, but maybe that was just me! Great selection of drinks and liked the branded glasses. This pub has an identity of its own which is evident from the outside.”

“We only had some cocktails but they were amazing. Smooth tasting and good quality ingredients. Service also brilliant. Update 28th of August Had drinks and some starters. Everything was exquisite and the service excellent 👌 👏 👍.”

“From the moment I walked in with friends we said wow! The decor is beautiful. Very cute and quirky venue, I have been to several bottomless brunches and this one has made it to my top 5. I loved the bellini shots to add to our prosecco and the prosecco served in China tea pots. The club sandwich was tasty, the brownie could have been better. Atmosphere was great and the prosecco was flowing, which is a must for bottomless brunch. No one wants to be waiting for a top up! Great location for us to make out theatre performance after. I will be back.”

“Stunning looking pub with lots of space, it's more like a premium space, not overcrowded like many places, service is fantastic too: attentive and they clean from tables all the time. All those garden elements and decorations are unique, even in London and with a great location I can imagine this I place might get busy. I'd highly recommend visiting toilets too, corridors and stairs look like taken from historic movie set. I haven't taken pics thou, something to do on my next visit. They don't serve Guinness zero, and got limited zero options. In a world where alcoholic drinks see a decline in sales, this is unfortunate. I haven't noticed any mocktails either. Other than that, come in and get some quality time.”

“Don’t give this place your business. Go to The Blue Posts just down the road - or anywhere else! Yesterday was my first time at this venue. It was also my last at any Fogg’s Tavern. I was invited there by my agent & I initially liked the venue, if a little bit sickly sweet. However that changed when my agent went to the bar a couple of hours in and was refused service. We were both baffled. I went back and enquired as to the reason. The bar staff apologised, looked embarrassed, and said we needed to speak to the manager. Emily, the American (or possibly Canadian) accented manager told me, and I quote, ‘we’ve just noticed you have had two bottles of Prosecco’. I was again baffled and replied that I’d noticed that too considering we’d bought them there and had consumed them over a two and half hour period. Having both eaten before hand and confident that the intoxication was at an easily manageable & not disruptive level I tried to get an explanation. Hannah informed me, and again I quote, that ‘This conversation was no longer productive’. I was so stunned by the corporate slop/ management speak in a bar that I was not sure what to do. I remained calm and made every effort to get clarity, despite my agent being devastated by the insinuation & both of us deeply insulted. To clarify it was 9:15pm & the place was barely 10-20% full. We were made to feel like drooling drunks & I can only assume Hannah is not quite aware of British drinking culture vs that in the US. When we were told we had been loud, my attempts to explain that it was in response to a large group of loud customers (whom Hannah had declined to accost), were ignored. The shutters were already down. I hope she finds a job she likes, possibly in a correctional facility or a debt collection agency as this one does not seem to suit her skill set. Spend your money elsewhere.”
