  “An unforgettable evening at the American Bar at The Savoy — truly one of the most iconic and refined experiences in London. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was timeless and effortlessly elegant. The live piano music completely elevated the experience — Felix was phenomenal. His playing created the perfect ambiance and made the entire evening feel special and intimate. Service was just as exceptional. Jacob went above and beyond in every way — attentive, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great experience. It’s rare to encounter that level of hospitality, and it did not go unnoticed. Every detail — from the drinks to the service to the atmosphere — was flawless. This is not just a bar, it’s an experience. We’ll absolutely be back.”

  “We had the most lovely time at The American Bar to celebrate my birthday. The staff were attentive and friendly. The cocktail list was extensive and each cocktail had a story and the bartenders were happy to make any cocktail of your choice. The setting is beautifully Art Deco and with so much history. We were only going to stay for one drink but stayed for so much longer… The atmosphere was so relaxing especially when Michael played the piano and sang. It made it the perfect birthday and I felt very special. 5 stars to the whole team at The American Bar & thank you!”

  “Actually quite disappointed by this bar, probably the weakest and uninteresting old fashioned I've had in London in the last 5 or so years. You can even tell from the photo it's been over stirred and watered down. As a positive, you could really feel the history in the bar, but for £22 plus service, it was a poor drink”

  “135 years going strong. Great hotel bar w/ more laid back less noisy vibe. Highly recommend the classic cocktails invented here, Hanky Panky and Corpse Reviver No 2, both very well balanced. Bar snacks include these nice crackers and olives. Great service, bartender returned my phone charging right away when I asked.”

  “We stopped in for a drink at 6:30 before a 7:30 Tuesday night theatre performance 14/10/25. We thought 30-40 minutes would be enough time to order and enjoy one drink. I’ve wanted to come to this bar for a while because of its history and storied past. I’m a sucker for historic bars. We got a table quickly without a reservation which was appreciated. I wanted a martini with an interesting gin and my husband ordered a cocktail off the menu. We let the server know that we wanted a quick drink before a show. The drinks took 25 minutes to arrive and we didn’t receive any water or snacks while waiting. Just sitting there chatting while growing nervous about the time. Meanwhile, we’re watching our server be very attentive to his other tables. Multiple rounds of drinks came out, snacks, water, and chit chat. We got none of those things. Clearly, the ticket price of the table is all that matters. For what it’s worth, we were dressed for the theatre. It’s not like we wandered off the tourist trail in trainers and shorts. And, the price of the drinks wasn’t an issue. But, we were made to feel less important and not as welcome as other tables. At a place like this, that’s unacceptable. The drinks finally arrived and we had to drink them quickly. The cocktail was good but my martini was less than interesting. They used Tangueray London Dry which I can have at home. It was fine, nothing special. We asked for the bill and to pay by card. The server seemed annoyed by this and brought us the bill but not the card machine. We really have to go at this point. It was now 7:15 and we have to walk to the theatre. Perhaps it was a mistake to think we could have a quick drink here. But surely this is common with theatre goers? Anyway, the experience was disappointing for such a special place that prides itself on service and quality. It was nothing special and we won’t be back.”
