About Café East
On Roman Rd in London, Café East is a cafe that serves breakfast plates to walk-in customers, with no reservations taken. The Full House breakfast covers eggs, bacon, sausages, hash browns, baked beans, mushrooms and tomatoes, and pancakes come with fruit or with Nutella and banana. A vegan sausage option sits on the menu alongside halal options for meats, and dishes are cooked to order rather than held ready. Condiments are left on the table so customers can adjust their own plates. The room is narrow and small, and a queue outside for a table is common. Card payments are now accepted, a change from the cafe's earlier cash only setup. High chairs are available for families with young children. It opens every day except Wednesdays.

Customer Review Summary
The recurring complaint is the queue for a seat. Some arrived to no wait on weekday mornings or afternoons, while others describe lining up and say seating falls short of demand. Early reviewers report the cafe was cash only, though a later update says it now takes cards. One reviewer found the Full House breakfast steep in price, and another found the flavours nice but nothing extraordinary. One diner disliked an item in a set breakfast and had it swapped without fuss.

“Fantastic cafe. They have a great selection on the menu. The service was fast and friendly and it felt genuine. I had the eastern smash breakfast for brunch. 3 bacon, 2 poached eggs and guacamole on sourdough with a small fresh side salad and excellent coffee. Will be back !!!!”

“The best place for breakfast, brunch or lunch in the East End. What a brilliant atmosphere with local art on the walls, chilled music in the background and a wonderful diverse clientele. The food is not only beautiful but of the highest quality and plentiful. If your are hungry try the beast from the east and don’t forget to try their smoothies”
