About TGI Fridays - The O2

At Unit 20 inside The O2, TGI Fridays serves an American menu with table service, servers taking orders at the diners' tables. The kitchen includes Byron-branded burgers and fries on the menu as part of a partnership arrangement, alongside the chain's wider American fare and cocktails. A margarita deal runs all day, and a Teen Meal option comes with a drink included. The restaurant takes walk-ins rather than reservations. A rewards app is available, and servers can help diners sign up at the table. Orders to go are packed in bags rather than boxes.

Customer Review Summary

The £5 May margarita deal draws the most repeated praise, with reviewers singling out the passion fruit 'rita and ordering round after round; close behind, the ribs and salmon earn mentions for being cooked well, and one visit's birthday cake is called a thoughtful touch. Several reviewers credit individual servers by role for going above and beyond, from helping with the rewards app to accommodating a disability. But an equal number describe serious service breakdowns: one family reports being seated late, waiting over an hour for food, and receiving a vegetarian salad with bacon despite correcting the order three times, ending in a remade dish. Others describe dirty cutlery, an unavailable ham hock disclosed only after ordering, and an overcooked mixed grill, with one saying a manager showed no concern. A separate reviewer says a Byron-branded burger arrived frozen and missing ingredients, calling it not up to standard, while another notes online offers like Kids Eat Free and the Teen Meal weren't mentioned in person and had to be requested.

“I am really disappointed in the experience me and my family had today. We had a reservation at 2:45 only to be seated at 3:00 and then had to wait another 20 minutes to order. It had then taken another long while to get drinks and they came wrong despite correcting the lady who took our order when she repeated the order. At this point, as expected our food also was a long wait where we had to ask a server to check the pass because of how long our food was there. We got the food and it was fine, nothing special. When we finished we asked for the bill and a takeaway box, which they didnt have and could only give us takeaway bags. The bill had come with the wrong drink, we asked for it to be amended because there was a price difference and they came back with the same bill saying they couldn't change it and didn't explain why. This goes without saying this place seriously lacks good managers as the whole restaurant was disorganised and completely understaffed. It seemed that only our server Leon was working but even his great service (cant fault him for anything) couldn't uplift the experience. I am truly disappointed with today and i would not recommend this restaurant until they get proper management.”

“I visited TGI Fridays at The O2 Greenwich yesterday after taking my children trampolining. Before choosing where to eat, I specifically looked at the offers on the TGI Fridays website, and those offers were the reason we chose to eat there. The “Kids Eat Free” promotion and the £10.49 Teen Meal (ages 13–17) made it an affordable option for a family day out. However, when we arrived, we were simply handed the standard menus—two children’s menus and three adult menus—and shown to our table. There was no mention whatsoever of any of the offers that had influenced our decision to visit. I looked around the restaurant and saw plenty of advertising for cocktails and other promotions, but there wasn’t a single sign promoting the Teen Meal or the Kids Eat Free offer. When the waitress came over, I specifically asked whether they did the Teen Meal. She looked surprised before saying, “Oh yes, we can do that for you.” That experience left a really bad impression. If I hadn’t already known about these offers from the website, I would never have known to ask, and I would have paid full price. I can’t help wondering how many families are doing exactly that. It’s the school summer holidays, when families are already trying to make their money stretch while treating their children to a day out. Advertising these offers online but then making no effort to tell customers about them once they’re in the restaurant feels incredibly misleading and unfair. The offers should be clearly displayed in the restaurant and staff should make customers aware of them when they’re seated, not leave it to people to know to ask. This experience has genuinely compelled me to write this review because I don’t think it’s fair, and I hope TGI Fridays changes this practice. “The service was exceptional and the food was on point. The ribs were worth the while and the salmon was cooked to perfection. Our server, Genevieve made the outing even more better with her attention to details and her prompt service. Definitely worth a comeback”

“I came for drinks not food and the drinks - 5 stars! They are currently doing a £5 May margarita deal in the month of may which is such a great deal!!”

“Sadly this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Went here for a meal before a show at the arena and left disappointed. We arrived at 4:30pm and there was no one at the door to take our booking/seat us. Eventually we sat by the door as instructed by a waiter when he saw my walking stick user mother struggling to stand. Once seated, we were really disappointed to see the new menu included barely any options for vegetarians. We noticed one salad said it could be made vegetarian so we asked for it without bacon (and explained three times as the guy serving us had not written this part down in his pad). An hour after being seated we finally received our starter (the waiter had no clue who they were for and admitted he had been trying to figure this out for some time). It then got to an hour and a half after arriving when my mother received her salad…. with bacon(!!!)… despite us asking and explaining three times she was vegetarian. This had to be sent back. Once she got her re-made salad, I then had to chase my own meal which arrived half an hour after her new salad. This is just incredibly poor service. The whole point of going to a meal together is that you both eat together. Once my dish did arrive it lacked any sort of flavour at all. My only reason for not giving it 1 was that our server was possibly new and was apologetic about the service we had received. That said, I will not return.”
