Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the value of the food, singling out fish and chips with mushy peas, a beef roast dinner with a large portion, and a full English breakfast. Close behind is the converted bank itself, described as beautiful and ornate, with live music and a friendly atmosphere also mentioned. Cheesy nachos split opinion, called very nice and good value by one reviewer and awful by another, who also found the menu poor though the beer selection wide. Service draws mixed accounts. Several call the staff lovely and friendly, while others report a wait of almost an hour for food that arrived at different times, and a waitress who forgot paid-for drinks during a match. A few mention that the place is very loud and that tables are not cleared after previous customers. One reviewer needed to eat and leave within 50 minutes and got food and drinks within fifteen.

“Beautiful building and setting and the staff were really lovely. It wasn't busy when we arrived but unfortunately we had to wait almost an hour for our food which came out at different times so weren't able to eat together. The food was ok but not great. Most definitely loved the live music the young lady singing was terrific .”

“I do like the Old Bank and have been coming in for a few years. Its a beautiful ornate building and has plenty of room. If you are lucky enough to get one of the huge booths when the footy is on its brilliant, and you can even enjoy live music. Recently though the service has gone a bit poor, recently the waitress took our order during a match for drinks and promptly forgot to bring them, even though we had paid. Waiting times at the bar seem to have grown too. Aside from that its a decent place, give it a go, even for the stunning interior.”

“Really good value for money, had a beef roast dinner, not the best cut of beef but for £15 I’m not mad about it. So much food on the plate. Staff were lovely and great atmosphere, bit loud for me but that’s just my opinion I like quiet when I’m eating I think this was more of a pub/bar than restaurant.”

“Was really surprised how nice the food was. For starters we ordered 2x sausage rolls and 2x chicken wings and for mains we ordered 2x steaks and 2x chicken burgers. Food was really nice, all the plates where cleared. Venue has been done up really nice and its in a good location about a 3 min walk to L1. The only thing was it is very loud but its still a nice atmosphere. Staff were all amazing super friendly. We will definitely go back”
