  “Solid place to eat if you want some decent, authentic Malaysian-style food. Good portion size and fast service. I enjoyed it even though I was in a bit of a rush, I would go back again to curate a more leisurely experience for myself Marked atmosphere down slightly because it was quite loud at some points, however it's a testament to how popular the restaurant is”

  “Overall very big portions and good value for food. Owner were very generous and gave us free soup! Sadly not authentic malaysian restaurant, average for food. Roti canai was good. Nasi lemak sambal was not to our liking but was served with good fried chicken. Sambal kangkung was not spicy or flavoursome. I would not recommend their yuen yang - it doesn't taste anywhere like the actual dish. You could taste that the stingray asam pedas was not fresh - definitely came from the freezer. However I think it is a restaurant where you do find some gems among other subpar dishes so it's a restaurant where you would need to visit a few times to know what is good. Drinks were authentic and great options.”

  “The atmosphere was truly wonderful, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. Most importantly, the food was delicious and the portions were quite generous. I will certainly be recommending this remarkable establishment in Liverpool to everyone I know.”

  “Visited on a Friday lunchtime and it was empty, so lacked atmosphere. We had high hopes for the food but were disappointed. The roti was okay, but only as okay as the ready made frozen variety that I buy and cook at home- which I suspect is what they use. The chicken curry and beef rending were disappointing. The curry was bland, completing lacking in any curry spice flavours or creamy coconut flavour. There were a few curry leaves and lemongrass sticks evident, but they made no impact on the flavour. It was also overpriced, given it's bone on chicken (as its should be) and cheap as chips potatoes - sorry! though the portion size was good. The beef rendang was more flavourful, though lacking in any spice or heat or toasted coconut flavour, it was also very wet. Maybe the Chinese Malaysian dishes are better, but for the curry and the rendang, they'd be better off opening a packet of Brahims. Overall, the food we tried was a poor imitation of Malaysian food and we won't be back, which is a shame as we love Malysian food.”

  “Super authentic Malaysian spot. You know you’re in the right place when it smells like home upon walking in. We rocked up with a large group and Jaclyn and her team were super accommodating and helpful. Recommend the rendang, the horfun, baby squid and kangkong. The free dessert and condiments corner were a great touch too. Value is great too. Averaged out at £20+ pp with multiple starters and mains shared. How good is the food? Good enough we forgot to take a photo.”

  “Kopitiam Sentral is a really solid spot for dinner if you’re in Liverpool and looking for great Malaysian-style food. The staff was super friendly from the moment we walked in, and the service was quick and efficient. The food also came out pretty fast, which was great since we ordered a lot of different dishes to share. Between the four of us we ordered quite a spread: crispy chili prawns, crispy mayo prawn rolls, vegetable spring rolls, chicken satay, chicken ho fun soup noodles, mapo tofu, rendang, steamed rice, sweet and sour, and kangkong. Everything was flavorful and perfect for sharing family-style. The standout dish for me was definitely the chicken ho fun soup noodles. It was incredibly filling, packed with flavor, and easily one of the best dishes on the table. If you go here, that’s a must-order. Overall, the portions were generous, the food tasted fresh, and the experience was great. It’s the kind of place where you can order a bunch of dishes with friends and try a little bit of everything. I’d highly recommend stopping by and would definitely come back if I were a local.”

  “Honestly I wasn’t expecting much but I gotta say I was very impressed. Ordered the prawn mee which I’ve tried in many different places outside of Malaysia and none hit the spot. This one surprisingly was good, not like Penang standard but for a non Malaysian spot this is probably one of the best ones I’ve had. Cendol was also good, not too sweet which is a plus. I’d recommend this if you’re looking for Malaysian food in Liverpool.”

  “Family run restaurant. Not sure if I ordered their signature dishes or not, but the food are average. Perhaps I should try other more famous dishes. However personally Im not a big fan of the curry. They did not pan fried the chicken first. It taste like water boil chicken and then put the curry on top, the potato are not soft enough too. Portion size are kind of small as well. However the service is really good and you have free soup too.”

From the moment we stepped in, the aroma of rich spices and sizzling dishes set the tone for an unforgettable meal. We ordered: • Egg Fried Rice – Perfectly cooked with just the right amount of seasoning (for me 10/10 taste) • Prawn Salted Egg – A standout dish with a creamy, flavorful salted egg coating that complemented the fresh prawns beautifully. (best meal for me!) • Beef Rendang – Tender beef infused with aromatic spices • Laksa – A bowl of comfort, filled with a rich, fragrant coconut curry broth and perfectly cooked. While the food was exceptional, there’s always room for improvement. A touch of cozy lighting could enhance the restaurant’s ambiance, making it more inviting for diners. Additionally, an audio surround system playing soft background music would add to the overall dining experience, creating a warm and immersive atmosphere.
