Quick info
About Yew Tree Coffee Barn
Yew Tree Coffee Barn is a coffee shop on Lower Rd in Liverpool, set in a countryside barn with hens, sheep and alpacas in the field next door. A fire burns in the centre of the cafe on cold days, giving guests a spot to sit with a hot drink. Breakfast is served all day, and the Full English breakfast sits on the menu beside pancakes with fruit and honey. Sandwiches and scones round out the food, and ice cream can be eaten outside while watching the animals. Lunchtime is busy and the tables fill up. The cafe is open Monday to Friday, daytime only, and closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the all day breakfast, with the full English and its bacon, and bacon on toast with a latte, drawing repeated praise, along with pancakes with fruit and honey described as hot and just off the griddle. Close behind are the scones, called the best ever by one reviewer, plus the sandwiches and cakes. Many mention friendly staff, reasonable pricing and the lovely fire on a cold day, while outside, the alpacas, hens and field animals and the panoramic view get a mention. The coffee draws mixed comments: one reviewer found it a tiny bit disappointing, wanting a heavier bean and less scalded milk, and now orders a filter with cream instead of a flat white. A few note the cafe is very busy and noisy at lunchtime, and one calls the portions small, with only four crisps alongside a chicken sandwich. One reviewer returned a second time for the bacon on toast, and another chose the barn as their wedding venue.

“Exceptional food, I had pancakes with fruit and honey. They were hot, just off the griddle, hot, soft and delicious. Good coffee too. I was on my own and, while very pleasant, it was too noisy for me. I guess a testament to how popular the Yew Tree is, as it was packed. Outside there were many lovely animals, a great opportunity to bring little ones.”

“The food was good but small portions for example only 4 crisps with my chicken sandwich”

“We really enjoyed our visit to Yew Tree Coffee Barn. The Full English breakfast was delicious, and the sandwiches and cakes were absolutely lovely! The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming, the staff were very friendly and attentive, and the prices are absolutely reasonable. We’ll definitely be coming back on our next UK trip!”

“Lovely chilled farm cafe and the pricing is reasonable for the food.Lovely fire if it's a cold day in the centre of the cafe and the staff are lovely.”

“Lovely place, we love the Alpacas. The scones are the best ever!! Do find the coffee a tiny bit disappointing though could be a heavier bean with less scolding on the milk but we still always come here and just opt for a filter with cream instead of our normal flat white order in other places.”

“Providing quality food in a relaxing atmosphere whilst offering views of the greenbelt countryside. Enjoy a day out whatever the weather, sit back with a hot drink in front of a roaring log fire or relax outside watching the hens & sheep roam whilst eating ice-cream. We serve breakfasts all day, sandwiches, salads, soups and delicious cakes”
