About Rose Lane Coffee

Rose Lane Coffee is a coffee shop in Liverpool, at 171 Rose Ln, that sells Crosby coffee beans and grinds them to order. The drinks menu covers flat whites, cappuccinos and lattes, plus a V60 and a Long Black, with a matcha latte and iced teas alongside. Cakes, bakes, pastries and sausage rolls make up a small food selection within a menu of 39 items. The inside space is small with limited seating, so tables are shared and queues form on busy days. Customer Review Summary

Flat whites are what reviewers return to most, described as creamy with a nice espresso kick, and the house coffee is singled out as a flat white in particular. Cappuccinos, iced teas and a matcha latte also get mentions, and one reviewer calls the specialty coffee smooth and not bitter at all. Close behind is the welcome: several describe friendly staff who chat and make people feel at home, and a few mention a sense of community among regulars, with art from local artists on the walls. Cake, pastries and a sausage roll are called delicious, though one reviewer notes the food selection is small. The main trade-off is space. Reviewers describe the inside as small and busy, and one says tables are not always available, while another never failed to get one. One reviewer adds that Crosby coffee beans can be ground for customers, and another stopped in at 2pm on a Sunday to find the atmosphere buzzing and a barista greeting them at the door.

“Great little coffee shop. Always a little busy but never failed to get a table. Had great flat whites, cappuccinos and iced teas from here. They also have Crosby coffee beans which they can grind for you too. A real one for the coffee lovers!”
  • Ritvars Davids
“Honestly one of the best flat whites I've had, it was so creamy and at the same time had a nice espresso kick!”
  • Bryn Hughes
“Walked into this place on the way home (North Wales) after dropping our daughter off at her university digs. Wow! Was welcomed by a gent making coffees as soon as I arrived through the door, the atmosphere was absolutely buzzing (Sunday 2pm) Lovely modern, sleek decor and some cool merch that they sell on show. Topping it all off the two takeaway coffees that we ordered were top notch. If I was local it would be a place I’d visit regularly, a place to go instead of the “pub” with a great atmosphere and plenty of conversation!”

“Absolutely love this little hidden gem of a coffee shop! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with friendly staff who always have a nice chat with you and make you feel at home. The drinks is rich are freshly made with the finest ingredients (one drink is never enough) and whilst the food selection is small, it is all absolutely delicious. It’s the perfect spot to relax, catch up with friends, or get some work done. Highly recommend!”

“It was a bright day, but the strong wind made it quite chilly outside. During my work break, I decided to stop by here to warm up, as they serve matcha latte. I really liked the cosy atmosphere inside — the background music was soft enough to still have a nice chat, and there were quite a few seats for a place of this size. The service was friendly, and the prices were reasonable. I truly enjoyed my matcha latte.”
