About The Station House Garforth

The Station House Garforth is a southern Italian restaurant in Leeds at 1 Station House, with tables right beside the railway track so diners can watch trains pass the window. Customer Review Summary

Pizza is the clear draw at this Garforth Italian, with reviewers praising the traditional-style bases, charred crust and fresh toppings, and one noting the dough on a garlic bread. Close behind are the antipasto platter of cured meats, salamis and salad, the tenderstem broccoli with fresh chilli, and a pistachio tiramisu. Service gets repeated credit, with several singling out a waitress who greeted them warmly, and others describing staff who take time to explain the food. The setting also draws comment: a cosy corner table, warm lantern light, quirky decoration across the upstairs rooms, and trains passing close to the window while double glazing keeps the room quiet. The only reservations are minor. One reviewer notes that peak periods need booking well in advance, and another simply forgot their box of leftover pizza. One diner who grew up on homemade Italian cooking calls it the best in Leeds, and a pistachio tiramisu arrived with an extra spoon for a partner who had skipped dessert.

“What a fantastic meal we had. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The pizzas were a standout, featuring that perfect charred crust and fresh, high-quality toppings. We also really enjoyed the vibrant plate of tenderstem broccoli with fresh chilli, which brought a lovely kick to the table. The whole spread looked as good as it tasted. The atmosphere was just right for a relaxing dinner. We loved the warm glow from the table lanterns, which made the space feel very welcoming. We cannot wait to return.”

“Popped In for an impromptu lunch as we were in the area and couldn’t have been more delighted. The food and service were exceptional. We didn’t have a pizza but did have a garlic bread and based on the dough I imagine they great. Would recommend to anyone.”

“Just returned home from eating out at this wonderful Italian restaurant in Garforth. We booked for 6:15pm on a Wednesday and were greeted and subsequently served by a fantastic young lady. She was friendly, charming and engaging. We ate in one of the upstairs rooms, which, like the entire restaurant is decorated in a quirky and unique way. There was music playing in the room (Louis Armstrong actually!) and we were made to feel so welcome. Both of us had pizza which was spot on and I had the pistachio tiramisu (with an extra spoon for my partner who didn’t want a dessert!) All in all it was a great evening out. The food was very good, but the service was what made it special. We will return.”
