About SALT Granary Wharf

SALT Granary Wharf is a bar in Leeds, on Granary Wharf, operated by Salt Beer Factory, part of Ossett Brewery. The canal-side site sits near the train station, and visitors can sit on the grass by the water and watch the boats go past. The full range of Salt beers is on draft, with a couple also on cask. The wider selection covers keg, cask, bottle and can beers, plus spirits that specialise in gin, and mixed cocktails are served on tap. Falafel Guys, the food place attached to the bar, supplies food that can be enjoyed on the premises. The layout inside and outside works for groups as well as smaller parties.

Customer Review Summary

Salt's own beers anchor most visits, with the full range on draft and a couple on cask. Reviewers name the Salt pilsner as delicious and enjoy the serge outside. Friendly, fast bar staff come close behind, along with a relaxed, comfy interior and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The canal-side spot near the train station draws praise as beautiful and stunning, and one reviewer notes a selection of keg, cask, bottle and can beers alongside gin and food from the attached counter. The complaints are narrower. One reviewer was angry that the bar manager refused to let anyone use two large tables and a small one reserved for 2 o'clock, still empty by 4 o'clock after three requests at the bar. Another finds the range on tap not massive and calls cocktails on tap strange and low brow. Reviewers return to the same picture of a cold pint on the grass by the canal, watching boats sail past.

“Fave place for a pint in Leeds. Lovely outdoor seating area, clean and good atmosphere inside. Bar staff are always lovely and so fast at serving you which I love. SALT has some of my favourite tipples so I may be bias but I think the selection and price is great for the location.”

“-5 STARS FOR MANAGERS RESERVATIONS IN SALT ONLY + 5 STARS FOR EVERYTHING ELSE Went to wharfest 17 last Saturday, it's was really good as usual. Unfortunately in salt a person had reserved 2 large tables and 1 small table for 2 o'clock, but by 4 o'clock no body had turned up, by this time we had asked at the bar 3 times if we could use them tables until the person that booked them turned up unfortunately the bar MANAGER says NO they have to remain empty. That doesn't make good business sense to me. Most of the bars we go in give you 15 minutes after your booked time or you lose your booking, but not at salt. I wonder how much more money the bar could have made if they had let another 20 people in for at least 2 hours. Im going to try this myself from now on and I expect the same fair and equal treatment. I will book 3 tables for 6pm and expect to see them empty when I walk in at 8pm or later.”

“Came here for valentines because Salt is one of my favourite breweries and couldnt recommend it more. The atmosphere is really nice and cozy, the staff are absolutely lovely and the beers (of course) are amazing. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and the seats were super comfy too. A great location not foo far from the train station, and just along the canal so a great view from the outdoor seating as well. Falafel guys, the food place attached also had some amazing food which could be enjoyed in the premises. I cant wait to come back to Leeds just to go here”
