About Lazy Lounge

Lazy Lounge is a gin, whisky and wine bar at Unit B2 in Leeds, serving the city since 2008. Afternoon tea is served as a tea service, with cocktails available alongside it, and tables are booked in advance. Both floors can be hired for private events, which gives groups room for birthdays, a hen do or an engagement party, and a DJ plays at events. Private events can affect table availability and timings, so the bar's regular tables work around the event calendar. The bar opens Tuesday to Saturday and is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Customer Review Summary

The recurring complaint is private events overriding ordinary bookings. One diner with a pre-booked afternoon tea was told to finish within 10-15 minutes after five minutes of eating, offered a bottle of Prosecco and sent to the sister bar. Another was met with hostility at the bar over a booking said to be void. A third reports half the menu unavailable at a party, leaving burgers and fish and chips, and a server who disappeared midway.

“The nice lady at the counter made me a "cola-weizen" wich is a popular drink in Germany. Basically Coke/Pepsi with wheat beer. It tasted like home ☺️, thank you!”

“Taylor was an absolute star and really helped make our evening memorable. He provided outstanding service throughout the night, was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. His customer service was second to none and genuinely enhanced our visit. We would highly recommend this place, and a big thank you to Taylor for looking after us so well!”

“I’ve had great times here in the past, but unfortunately tonight hasn’t been so great and put me rite off the lazy lounge. We booked for 5.30pm and once we arrived were met with hostility from the man on the bar, who implied that our booking was void as they were hosting a private event. His attitude made me not even want to show the receipts of that fact that we had even made exchanges with the bar prior to still have drinks until 6.30pm 💀. All okay tho as we spent £90 on cocktails in the end round the corner in lovely Whitehall, don’t be rude to my mam x”

“Very disappointing experience ! Booked an afternoon tea for two mid Dec 25 for 21/2/26 - present from parents for our joint birthdays. Wanted 4pm but the staff member explained they had a private party until 5pm so settled for that time. Received a phone call from the venue 1 hour before we were due to arrive to check we were still coming. Arrived at the venue on time. There wasn’t a table ready and they were packing up from private party. Staff set up a table (the venue was empty) and we were then told by a DJ that he was setting up for an engagement party in that area. So we agreed to move to another table. Food and cocktail arrived. After 5 minutes we were advised by a staff member that we would need to finish up within 10-15 minutes as they had a private party. We explained we booked the table 2 months ago and no mention of another party and we had only just started the food and drink. He apologised but said we would need to move on and could go to their sister bar next door. Obviously we were not happy but he explained there wasn’t a no choice and he would give us a bottle of Prosecco as an apology. We rushed our sandwiches and asked for the desserts to be boxed up to take away. A really disappointing experience and we certainly won’t be returning. The apology was insincere. The whole experience could have been avoided by calling me in advance to explain or advise me when they called one hour before our arrival. 🤬”

“Its lovely place really nicely decorated but on the night we had our party half of the menu wasn't available literally left us with burgers and fish and chips. Half way through our server disappeared and we had to go look for someone and the barman didn't know what was going on on the floor not good enough Not good enough”
