About Kirkstall Taproom & Kitchen
Kirkstall Taproom & Kitchen is a bar in Leeds at 100 Kirkstall Rd, open daily and attached to the Kirkstall Brewery, with windows at the entrance that look into the brewery. Inside is one large room with brick walls and wooden tables, plus a separate bar area. Orders go in at the bar, and food comes to the table. The beer range runs across draught and cans, with Kirkstall Pilsner among the options and a non-alcoholic choice for those not drinking. The kitchen bakes thin-base pizzas in 12" and 8" sizes, including a chicken and blue cheese topping, and a gluten free crust is available. Garlic gnocchi sits among the sides. A claw machine inside has beer among its prizes.

Customer Review Summary
Pizza is what reviewers return to most, praised for a thin, fluffy base and unusual toppings such as chicken and blue cheese with a hint of chilli, with one calling it among the best outside Italy and another singling out the gluten free crust. Close behind is the beer, brewed on site and visible through the entrance windows. Reviewers name the Kirkstall Pilsner and the Judicious pale ale, and one mentions a version of Double Diamond. Sides such as chorizo bites and garlic gnocchi get a mention, as do the beer garden, the dog menu and the claw machine. Staff draw mixed comments. Several find them friendly, helpful and keen to talk beer, while one reviewer describes multiple staff as blunt and borderline rude. One reviewer also notes a guest bitter that was past its best, and another says to expect a wait for pizza when it is busy. One reviewer says the team arranged wholesale contact before they left.

“Large bar with outside seating. Pizzas are good with some interesting topping options. Good selection of beers (as you'd expect!) including a non alcoholic option.”

“Good brewery, produces and serves bloody good beer. Pizza available. Plenty of paid parking. Staff friendly. Brewing a version of Double Diamond, which used to Work Wonders! Brewery Highly recommend.”

“Really lovely place. Extremely helpful and kind staff that went the extra mile. Great gluten free crust for pizza too!”

“Balanced review for me. The atmosphere from other guests, decor and beers available is great and especially in nice weather the beer garden is lovely. The pizza is good - could do with chips on the menu to go with all the sides! The main thing that let's it down is the overall staff morale - they seem really unhappy and can be blunt and borderline rude to customers which really puts us off going sometimes. This seems to be a common thing with multiple staff members so I'm not sure if there's a wider issue. Would like to see more enthusiasm since it is such a quirky and unique place for Leeds.”
