“The staff were lovely. Roast dinner wasn't great, roast potatoes were hard, only a little portion of chicken. Veg wasn't cooked for long enough. What really surprised me was paying nearly £10 for pate on toast and it only came with one small slice of toast. When we asked for another slice they charged us £2!!!!! What is happening in the world that its £2 for what was essentially half a slice of toast!”

“Having enjoyed many great times at the Stag, we find it only one of few restaurants where you receive consistent great service, exceptional cuisine at affordable prices. We booked Sunday lunch and were delayed and called to request delaying the table by 40 minutes. Nothing was too much trouble, and we even requested to sit on a certain table (our favourite) which was facilitated. George and Horris looked after us from the moment we arrived, and we were not rushed and just enjoyed the view of the splendid garden and surroundings. The food we chose was a Sunday lunch for two, and was perfectly presented. It had so much flavour it was just spot on!! The Stag is set in such lovely settings, that I would recommend this to any family as it caters for all. Well done again and see you soon.”

“The menu does not change for 3 months, the chef isn't willing to improvise, so just two vegan/vegetarian options on the menu, a hot sandwich and a main course, which is a aubergine pasta. It's not what I really fancied eating, but it was not too bad. Hopefully the chef adds some more ve/veg choices on the menu the next 3 months. E.g. a vegetarian pie, so I can have pie & mash! And they keep well in the freezer! 👍”
