About King’s Arms Shouldham
King's Arms Shouldham is a community-owned pub on The Green in Shouldham, Kings Lynn, and the first pub in West Norfolk to be run that way. Real ales and local brews are on tap, and the kitchen works from a standard menu plus a specials board, with a dining menu that changes. Halloumi fries come with sweet chilli sauce, the fish and chips are beer-battered, and the Sunday roast offers beef, pork, chicken or a vegetarian pie. Inside, an open fire and large fireplaces sit in a 17th-century building. Dogs are welcome, and a small assault course gives children somewhere to play. The pub opens Tuesday to Sunday and closes on Mondays. West Norfolk CAMRA named it Pub of the Year in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2020.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the food, with the burger topping the list: one describes it served with cheese, chorizo mayonnaise and coleslaw alongside chunky chips. Halloumi fries and the Sunday roast come close behind, the roast praised for its reasonable price and the choice of beef, pork, chicken or a vegetarian pie. Others name beer-battered fish and chips, scampi, a ploughman's, a beef and ale pie with a light shortcrust top, and the cheesecakes. The real ales and local brews, the garden with a small assault course for children, and a roaring fire in winter also come up. Staff are called friendly and helpful, and the pub is described as dog friendly. The main complaint is slow service when busy. One diner waited a while to be served, and another says table service can be inconsistent and you often need to find someone. Two reviewers suggest reserving ahead because it fills up fast. One anniversary diner found a creamy pasta bed too heavy for a delicate sea bream, though the crumble and frangipane were enough to share.

“Although we live fairly locally, it’s been years since we’ve been here. We visited today and was not disappointed. We received a very warm welcome and given the choice to eat inside or outside. It was easy to pre book through messenger but I’m sure you would easily get a table if you were a walk in. My OH had a ploughman’s which he said was delicious. Myself and our friend had the scampi which we both enjoyed. The staff, the service and the food were all great and prices are very reasonable. Not a huge choice but more than enough options to keep you sated. Would we return again? Absolutely! 💯”
