Customer Review Summary

Chicken Chow Mein draws repeat lunch regulars who call it consistently delicious and generously portioned, while the Chicken Noodle Soup starter and Mixed Grill steak also earn praise, alongside a Special Spring Roll described as crisp and a banana fritter dessert on the value-priced three course menu. Several reviewers highlight the set-price deals, from a two course special at £16.95 to an £11.20 three course meal, though one diner felt the offer's portions ran small. Staff are repeatedly called lovely and the atmosphere comforting, with one longtime patron calling the place a Kilmarnock staple. Delivery experiences pull the pattern down sharply: one reviewer describes a chicken chop suey as bland and underfilled, and another reports a delivery running nearly ninety minutes late after being told conflicting stories about whether the driver had left. A regular customer also notes being put off after staff would not offer smaller portion sizes on request. Dine-in service is repeatedly called faultless, with one reviewer praising a Friday night visit squeezed in just before the restaurant got busy.

Had a delivery tonight, chicken chop suey. Worst one I’ve had from any Chinese.Very bland.Even on opening it looked very pale. Had plenty of tasteless chicken, beansprouts, water chestnuts and that’s about it. Think it should have had maybe peppers, mushrooms and sweetcorn. Disappointing.

Absolutely scunnered. Food ordered at 5.20pm, told it would be 40 minutes (6pm). Still not here at 6.20pm. Phoned back up to be told it was just leaving the restaurant - asked is the driver definitely there? - yes driver is here to take the food...6.45pm still no food. Phone back up for the girl to tell us its not left yet and just about to be cooked. Absolutely disgusting, lying to customers.

Friday night at 5pm, we managed to get in before it got real busy. Chicken Noodle Soup for starters went down very well. As did my Chicken Maryland. Chicken & Oyster Sauce did lack a little something. First time in the restraunt in a number of years, maybe just cooked a little different from our home town Chinese?? Service was faultless. I really enjoyed it & would go back anytime.

My go-to spot for a reliable lunch. I always get the Chicken Chow Mein – it's consistently delicious and a great portion for the price. The staff are lovely and remember my usual order. Highly recommend!

A proper gem! The Mixed Grill steak was cooked to perfection and the Special Spring Roll starter was lovely and crisp. Great food, great price. We'll be back for sure.

How this listing is sourced

Where the data comes from
Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
How it stays current
Every listing is re-checked on a recurring crawl, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
How it is ranked
Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
