Customer Review Summary
Raymonds Kitchen draws sharply divided reactions, with the Chinese curry and salt and pepper chicken emerging as the most frequently singled-out dishes. Several reviewers praise the curry's spicy, rich flavour and name the salt and pepper chicken with Peking sauce and the smoked shredded chicken with satay as standouts, with one calling the portions huge and the quality high. Close behind, a few note that the food can taste good when it hits, and chips come up repeatedly, though opinions split. On the negative side, multiple reviewers describe serious quality problems: beef in Peking sauce and sweet and sour beef fried rice that tasted off or smelled unpleasant, beef chow mein that was dry and overcooked with an almost chemical taste, and curry that was dry and gloopy. Chips are a recurring weak point, called soggy, dry, reheated, bland, or burnt. One reviewer reports a well-done steak arriving after specifically requesting pink with no gravy or sauce, and another describes shockingly poor manners on the phone. A delivery that took quite long on a Tuesday and food that was not the warmest also surface. One reviewer suggests the kitchen could improve communication with chefs on specific orders.

“Stopped off here tonight for takeaway. Won’t be back. Utter garbage. Satay chicken skewers were horrific. And the beef in a peking sauce tasted anything but peking. It actually looked like they had scraped some road kill up off the street.”

“Best Chinese curry ive tried in the area. I was a Lotus house frequent before, and tried Tatsu, but didn't rate that one. Curry was spicy and tasty. Chips could have been a bit better, portions also adequate could've been better but couldn't beat flavour. This is NOW my favourite Chinese in the area, for a Chinese curry. Delivery took quite long for a tuesday however.”

“🏅 exceptional! Huge serves, quality ingredients, super high standard chinkie. I travel from Sydney knowing that Raymond's will fix me up with probably the best Chinese food I've ever had. Always fast, friendly and value for money. I cannot fault it. Consistently a delight 🏅 …”

“Visited twice over the past few weeks for the first time in years and remembered why. The food can only be described as meh. Edible but nothing to write home about. Not even as much as a smile from the person taking the order.”
