Customer Review Summary
Most reviewers single out friendly staff, from bar staff to servers on the floor who were honest about wait times, checked in regularly and looked after families and disabled guests. The refurb is repeatedly called fresh and welcoming, and the kids' play area gets a nod too. Steak is the food most often praised: an 8oz steak dinner and a steak and eggs breakfast both arrived cooked as ordered. Juicy yet crispy chicken burgers, gluten free meals and a kids' summer meal deal also earn praise. The complaints centre on kitchen and bar execution. One diner's Smothered Steak Sizzler, ordered medium well, came very well done, and the Ultimate Big Combo had small, dry chicken strips. A breakfast reviewer waited a long time in an empty pub for Belgian waffles when the menu promised American style, with overcooked hash browns alongside. Drinks ordered through the app arrived after the mains, and a Sex on the Beach came without cranberry juice. Even so, that same table called the fish and chips lovely and the best meal of the visit.

“Amazing service from Joe and Agnes. As soon as we entered we felt welcomed and had all our questions answered with a smile. Service was fast and friendly. And better then any other time we have been. I believe your staff could definitely learn a thing or two from Joe behind the bar. And Agnes on the floor. We will definitely return. Thank you Joe and Agnes.”

“Went for breakfast, excited to find somewhere nearby that does chicken & waffles.. menu specifically states "American style" waffles. Waited almost half an hour for the food to come out when we were the only people in the entire pub. Food arrives and its 2 very heavy sugar coated Belgian waffles, not "American style", and it just did not work. Questionable from an allergen perspective when it's not what is on the menu at all, and it just genuinely wasnt good. Other half had a full English that looked much better bar the very overcooked hash browns and cheap margarine for toast, not butter. Really disappointing. Update - owner reply "Hi Harri, Thank you for your review. We apologise if the breakfast wasn't to your standard. I will be addressing this with the kitchen and support the new chefs with further training. Many thanks" This isn't a question of my "standards" you served me something completely different to what was on your menu. This could have made someone seriously ill as you could have served something they're allergic too without making them aware that the food is NOT what they ordered. The fact you responded in this way has put me off ever coming back. Absolutely ridiculous to blame this on my and my "standards" rather than your cooks who seem to have had no training in food safety and hygiene!”
