  “The experience was extremely disappointing. The food took much longer than expected to arrive, and when it finally did, it was cold and lacked flavour. We complained about the Jalfrezi and asked the manager to call the chef. Through the kitchen window, we could clearly see the chef hiding and refusing to come out and speak to us. We could also hear the chef swearing in Punjabi from the kitchen, which made the situation even more uncomfortable and unprofessional. The manage offered us a biryani and a dessert to take away as compensation. Unfortunately, when we got home and tried the biryani, it was completely bland with no spices or flavour at all. The compensation only confirmed how poor the food quality was. Overall, it was a miserable experience, not worth the money, and I won’t be returning. I sincerely hope they improve both their food quality and the way they handle customer complaints.”

  “We recently hosted a party of 12 at WahBey in Gants Hill, and I honestly can’t recommend it enough. From the very beginning, Khalid was absolutely amazing. We discussed everything beforehand, and he delivered on every single detail. When I say this guy delivered, he delivered. Everything was exactly as promised, which made the whole experience completely stress free. The staff deserve a special mention too. They were constantly on the go, making sure everyone was looked after and that nothing was missed. A big thank you to Tala Bhai, who works alongside Khalid - his service was exceptional, friendly, attentive, and professional throughout. As for the food, the lamb karahi was packed with flavour, the chops were perfectly cooked, the fish pakora was delicious, and honestly everything we ordered was fantastic. The portion sizes were generous, so nobody left hungry. Overall, every single one of our guests left happy, full, and complimenting the food and service. If you’re looking for great food, generous portions, and outstanding hospitality, WahBey is definitely the place to go. We’ll definitely be back!”

  “Visited yesterday with a family group of 24 people and had a fantastic experience. Before booking, we called to enquire and the service over the phone was definitely reassuring and professional, which gave us confidence to commit to the booking. We ordered the Tawah Grill Platters, curries, biryani, starters, lassi jugs, mojitos, and chai; everything was freshly made, sizzling, and full of flavour - the grills and Achaari Gosht were the highlights. A special thanks to Talha for being so helpful from booking through to the event day, and to Khalid for ensuring the food and service were spot on throughout. Warm hospitality, great vibes, clean decor, and excellent desi food. One of the best places in Gants Hill / Ilford, we’ll definitely be back again!”

  “Service was amazing, food came quickly after ordering, with the quality of the food still being amazing. I ordered a mix grill and chicken and lamb was cooked to perfection. Super tender, would definitely recommend! Talha was really helpful, telling us if portions sizes would be enough or to less.”

  “We visited while there was an offer - 50% off curries and biryani. The nihari was 10/10, fell off the bone. Really enjoyable meal, attentive and speedy service. I would only visit again on a special offer as this meal full price isn’t great value in my opinion.”

  “Tawa Grill was excellent. Served freshly cooked and the seekh kebab and grilled chicken were absolutely delicious. The freshly prepared Tandoori simple Naan were superb. The rice were full of flavour and tasted like Yakhni Palao rice.”

  “Coming all the way from Manchester to taste possibly one of the best authentic Pakistani cuisine by far. Thank you to Talah and Atia for looking after our table. The service and customer experience was mind blowing. Thanks also to Karl and Tariq for making sure our party was well looked after.   “Honestly the food was amazing probably the best grill i’ve had in ages. Everything was really freshly made, meats were super flavourful and authentic and the service was amazing. All the staff were welcoming from the moment you walk in and very hospitable and accommodating especially Lakshika. Overall the atmosphere as well was really nice, great interior and good vibes 10/10 would recommend and I will definitely come back again with my family. Thank you for your service!!!”

  “Went to Wah Bay for dinner with my family – two adults and three children (youngest is 8). The restaurant has a downstairs seating area, and we were seated downstairs. The décor there is nice and stylish. We arrived at 7:30pm and ordered our food at 7:50pm. The restaurant was extremely busy due to the 50% off January 2026 offer, which likely contributed to the delays. Our starters (samosa chaat and chicken pakoras) and the kids’ meals didn’t arrive until 8:30pm, which was quite a long wait with children. No ketchup, sauces or salt and pepper on the table . The samosa chaat was okay, but I’ve definitely had better elsewhere. The chicken pakoras were really yummy though, probably the highlight of the meal. By the time my biryani arrived at 9:00pm (see pic), I was extremely hungry and just tucked straight in. Unfortunately, the butter chicken and achar gosht arrived even later at around 9:25pm, after the biryani had already been finished. I did feel sorry for the waiter, who looked very stressed with everyone constantly asking when their food would arrive. The people on the table next to us actually left because the wait was so long. There were a lot of people complaining about food arriving late, so this didn’t feel like an isolated issue. Overall, the food was decent but the long waiting times really let the experience down. With better organisation during busy promotional periods, this place could be much better”
