About Flavours Of Punjab
Flavours Of Punjab is a Punjabi restaurant in Ilford, at 200 High Rd, that serves regional Punjabi cooking to large parties and family celebrations. The menu is long and covers both vegetarian and non-veg dishes, so a mixed group can order across it. Amritsari fish is among the dishes on offer, and the kitchen also prepares dal makhani for the vegetarian side of the table. Groups planning a celebration can build a meal around shared plates from this wide spread. Desserts include gajar ka halwa, which gives a celebration meal a sweet finish.

Customer Review Summary
Amritsari fish draws the most specific complaints, with one reviewer finding it frozen inside and another describing a greasy, soggy coating that did not taste fresh. Undercooked food recurs beyond that dish: a mixed grill described as raw, a cold, flavourless curry, and a takeaway tandoori chicken one reviewer says was raw with blood coming out. Order mistakes come up as well, including chilli paneer sent instead of chilli chicken to a reviewer who does not eat paneer, and a coke left out of two orders in a row. One vegetarian reviewer reports finding non-veg pieces in a veg dal makhani. Others describe slow, unhelpful service, and one group says it was told to pay for 35 people when 25 attended, adding that this has happened before. A single reviewer praises flavour-packed Punjabi classics and a large menu for vegetarians and non-veg diners, suited to family celebrations. Desserts fare poorly too, with a rubbery gulab jamun and a dry hajar ka halwa.

“Very disappointing experience. The service was slow and unhelpful, and unfortunately the food did not live up to expectations. The quality was poor considering the prices, and overall the experience was not worth the money. I expected much better and would not be in a hurry to return.”

“I ordered from this restaurant and last time when I ordered it they forgot to put a one coke (Drink) so I just called them and tell them and they said when I will order again they will put it the coke. And today I again ordered food and I called them and asked them and one guy he said yeah will put it and today again they didn’t put it. I am the frequent customer n always ordered my food from here but this restaurant has a very poor hospitality service which is very bad. You need to pay attention while you are packing orders. I will never order my food from here again.”

“I recently ordered the Amritsari fish and was really disappointed. The fish didn’t taste fresh at all.The texture was also poor Instead of being light and crispy, the coating was greasy and soggy. Definitely not something I would recommend.”
