About Pavilion Cafe - East Park (AJR Catering Ltd)
Pavilion Cafe is a café in Hull on Holderness Road, sharing its building with the library and its ground-floor toilets. The menu runs from cooked breakfasts to sandwiches, toasted teacakes, and cakes, with iced coffee among the cold drinks. Hot food service ends in the early afternoon, though the café stays open into the afternoon for the rest of the menu. Seating is walk-in, with no need to book ahead. A step-free entrance suits visitors with mobility needs, and high chairs are on hand for families with young children. Outdoor tables are set up for those who want to eat outside, and dogs are welcome, with a dog menu offering items such as sausages. Customers bringing their own food are asked not to eat it on site, and hot water for baby bottles is charged for rather than provided free.

“Lovely cafe very busy, I can see why, it's just lovely, food was very good and great portions!”

“Spent £8 on ice lollies after one of my 4 year olds fell over on the broken paving outside just so I could ask someone for a plaster. Asked 2 people & was told they are not allowed to give out plasters. The first aid box was 2 foot away but they didn’t help so he bled on a table instead.”

“Absolutely ridiculous. We visited today with my husband and our 20-month-old son. We both purchased iced coffees and asked for a cup of tap water with ice for our child, who only drinks water. The staff member refused. He initially said they don't provide tap water and then claimed they had no ice available, despite the fact that both of our iced coffees were served with ice. When we questioned this, he told us he couldn't give our baby a drink because it would come "out of the café's pocket." This made very little sense, especially considering we were paying customers. It was obvious that he simply didn't want to provide a cup of water free of charge. However, access to tap water should be a basic courtesy, particularly for a young child. Our son has been to many cafés and restaurants, and this is the first place that has ever refused him a drink of water. We are extremely disappointed. We loved the park, but after this experience, we will not be returning.”

“I have been to this cafe many times over the years. We spent about £30 in the cafe over 2 visits on Sunday. I have always tried to support local and have found the customer service very good. However I was very disappointed after my son had eaten he wanted a tap water as it was extremely hot. He was refused as he was told it was not company policy. I then questioned this, stating how much we had spent in the cafe that day and was then advised to get some from the toilet sink, as it was on the same system. Today we have been to a major chain and got an iced water with no problems.”

“Came in today with my son and granddaughter who shared some gravy and chips. We was not allowed to be given an extra plate apparently too much washing up to do. Then why don’t you employ some more staff then. Then I asked for a second fork got absolutely grilled was it for food bought in the cafe. Shocked but you’ve definitely lost customers and hopefully more after reading my review!”
