  “Visited this lovely pub just over a week ago, very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the cookery, unpretentious, excellent portion size and real value for money. A particular shout out to Millie our Waitress, who was attentive, knowledgeable without ever being overbearing. I’ve eaten at a lot more swanky places who get some of the basics wrong, this place reminds me that you don’t have to pay £200 ahead for a really nice meal out”

  “Editing original as went back to eat and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Food tasty and well presented. Great service, nice quiet atmosphere. Just what we wanted. Original review: Popped in for a quiet afternoon drink with family. Great friendly service, a wide choice of drinks including two real ales. Is an old farmhouse converted to a beer house post 1830 and is now a comfortable pub with restaurant and outside terrace seating with a great view. We didn’t eat on this occasion but did have a look at the menu which looks very good. Enough choices without there being too many choices and something to please everyone. We will definitely return to eat.”

  “Absolutely fabulous Sunday Roast!! We had lamb and pork on our table. Everyone said how gorgeous everything on the plate was. Staff were very helpful and attentive. I would recommend The Boars Head, and will definitely be back!!”

  “Never eaten here before but the food was beautiful, excellent tastes and presented well. We arrived and seated by a new member of staff who was to start woth a little nervous but so polite and gave us a choice of seats. We ordered and was blown away with the food and her professionalism throughout our meal. The afters was beautiful too and I would highly recommendeating here and enjoying a great experience and amaIng food.”

  “It’s unusual to find food and service of this quality in country pubs which , in our experience have been ignominious. Not here , A warm welcome from Maddie , an excellent well priced two course lunch menu that was presented beautifully and delivered on flavour and texture. I even ate my greens 🫢We had the pork belly and the steak and ale pie. A delectable desert crumble and delicious chocolate brownie . We particularly asked for the chefs names ( and yes real chefs here ) So thank you to Youseff and Alphonso,, we really appreciate your quality and finesse .”

  “Fantastic food, was served by a very friendly Milly. Will 100% go again. Great pork belly. Just wish there were more “normal” pub pints on offer other than Kronenberg. No moretti/cruzcampo etc”

  “Really enjoyed my visit — the food was delicious,full of flavour and properly cooked. I had the sirloin steak with fries, onion rings and gravy, and it came exactly how I like it, pink inside but not rare; slightly chewy in parts but still very tasty overall. One small improvement would be how the steak is served, as the bowl and paper lining made it difficult to cut, and a friend felt the adult cod portion was quite small compared to the kids’ size. Overall a great experience and I’ll definitely be back, especially to try the outdoor seating when it’s warmer.”

  “Meeting family half way and chose The Boars Head!!! Wow, what a gem. We never go out for a roast as they’re normally overpriced and not like home cooked but this was so fab. The veggie wellington came with everything the roast had and was delicious. It was well worth the hours drive. Thank you”

  “Came here for my sons 18th birthday meal. Recieved a warm welcome on arrival and throughout our meal the staff couldn't have been more friendly and wonderful. The food was some of the best food we've had in a long time. Flavour and presentation was 5 star. The restaurant itself was warm and cosy as well as being clean and tidy. Will definitely be returning in the future to sample the rest of the menu”

  “My wife and I went for a lunch today and what a pleasant experience. Friendly and welcoming staff. Despite the fact we didn’t pre book table the staff didn’t turn us away in fact quite the opposite they welcomed us inn. Very impressed. Food was excellent. Super fresh and delicious. 100% will recommend. Based on our experience today we will definitely be back. Many thanks”
