Customer Review Summary
Baguettes are the draw at this Castleton cafe, with reviewers singling out the Turkey Salad Club and the Pulled Pork in the French Baguette, served warm and stuffed with filling. Close behind are the hand cut, home made chips, chips in gravy, and a Turkey and Gravy Cob, while a Classic Cheese Burger, caramel lattes and good coffee also earn praise. Many arrive after long hikes and describe friendly, fast staff, generous portions, and prices lower than nearby lunch spots. Cakes draw mixed opinions: an espresso walnut cake is called delicious, but another reviewer found the flapjack too crumbly and the brownie almost raw. One diner was disappointed that several menu items were unavailable. The sharpest complaint comes from a reviewer who says four empty coffee cups stayed on the table through two requests to clear them, until the cafe was closing, while other tables were tended. Another visitor, by contrast, notes staff always cleaning tables, and a reviewer says the cafe is dog friendly.

“Today, we stopped at the Three Roofs Cafe for a drink while hiking. Both drinks were so tasty we decided to stay for a meal as well. We ordered a Classic Cheese Burger and let me tell you, it was delicious! The flavour of the meat was perfect. 5/5. Thank you!”

“Popped in for coffee and cake, ordered iced lattes, brownie and a flapjack. The coffees were nice and refreshing. The cakes were slightly underwhelming. Flapjack was too crumbly and the brownie almost tasted raw. Parking is directly opposite the cafe £2.90 for 2 hours.”

“I’m writing this with a bit of a heavy heart as I usually enjoy the vibe here, but our experience today was rather disappointing. Upon arrival, our table was cluttered with four empty coffee cups from previous guests. We politely asked for them to be cleared, and after a long wait, we had to ask a second time. Unfortunately, despite our requests, the dirty dishes remained on our table for the entire duration of our stay—even as the venue was closing. It was quite disheartening to see other tables being attended to and cleared while ours was consistently overlooked. It’s a real shame, as it felt quite unwelcoming to sit amongst unwashed cups throughout our visit. I truly hope the service standards can be looked into, as we’d love to have a reason to return.”

“A lovely welcoming cafe. We have been here twice after long hikes and felt very welcome. Food is excellent and filling. We had baguettes and they were served warm with plenty of filling. Probably the best baguettes we have ever eaten. Nice cakes too with generous portions. Friendly, happy staff. Dog friendly.”
