About Lynchpin Holywood

Lynchpin Holywood is a vegan restaurant on Holywood's main street, at Unit B, serving a fully plant-based menu built around brunch and lunch. The Hash comes with hash potatoes, hummus and crispy chickpeas for a Lebanese twist, and the Satay Scramble and French Toast with poached pears sit alongside it. Coffee runs from lattes to a dirty chai latte with almond milk and a turmeric latte. Freshly baked sweet treats include cinnamon buns and chocolate cake. On Friday evenings the kitchen serves a five-course supper club that changes monthly, so each month brings a different menu for an evening out. The restaurant also holds an alcohol licence, with wine, beer and cocktails available.

Customer Review Summary

Diners most often single out the scrambles. The satay scramble and the tofu scramble are both praised for their consistency and trimmings, and one reviewer calls the tofu version the best they have eaten. The Hash comes close behind, with its Lebanese twist of hummus and crispy chickpeas, followed by the French Toast with poached pears, a focaccia sandwich, a toastie and bao buns. Coffee draws praise too, including a dirty chai latte with almond milk and a turmeric latte, and one reviewer says a waitress steered them to the right coffee. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and quick. Complaints are small and mostly about seasoning. One reviewer wanted more salt on the hash potatoes, another on the fries, and one disliked the pickled cabbage. One found the black coffee only standard, and another ran into unavailable menu items and no mention of the soup of the day. Several finish with the baked goods, naming the cinnamon bun, the chocolate cake and a flapjack taken away to go.

“Food was very good for all being plant based, flavours were exceptional! I just was not a fan of watever the pickled cabbage was pickled in, and a bit of salt for the fries would have been perfect, but thats just me! Wife had a very nice smoothie. Service was very very good as well, attentive and quick to take care of us!”

“Absolutely amazing delicious plant based food with brilliant efficient and friendly service. We had the toastie, the bao buns and the hash and everything was really tasty.”

“Super friendly staff first and foremost! A unique menu with some interesting twists on classic brunch options, don’t let this put you off as it was executed really well especially as it’s all plant-based. The Hash brown sides are amazing (but potatoes need salting during the cook). I had the Satay Scramble which was delicious and felt like healthy comfort food. Black Coffee could have been better - was decent, fairly standard for a brunch place.”

“Lynchpin is a plant-based restaurant which specialises in brunch but hosts a Supper Club which changes monthly. We called down to try their Brunch menu which has good spread of sweet and savoury options. We started with the French Toast which was fantastic. We loved the poached pears and the bread itself; fluffy and perfectly cooked. Next we had the Satay Scramble which was also delicious! I loved the consistency and might be some of the best I have tried. The trimmings around it worked really well. We also tried The Hash which is a creative take on the tradition breakfast Hash. The Lebanese twist was very welcome with Hummus and crispy chickpeas working so well with the Hash potatoes. The service was very friendly and the location is very convenient, as it is right on Holywood's main street. Overall we had an amazing lunch! I can't wait to try one of their Supper clubs. 😊 I would absolutely advise anyone, vegan or not, to try this restaurant. You won't be disappointed!”
