Customer Review Summary
Reviewers split sharply on New Century, with delivery speed the most common point of friction. Two describe a 45 minute estimate stretching past an hour and a half with no communication about the delay, and one says the food sat in a car while the driver ran other orders. A third calls home delivery very slow. On the praise side, a long-time customer of five years describes food that arrives fresh, hot and prompt, and a newcomer calls it the best Chinese they have tasted, with generous portions. Another reviewer singles out the noodles as delicious and the staff on the till as welcoming. Food quality draws mixed verdicts on specific dishes. One reviewer found the chicken fried rice dry and closer to boiled rice with tiny bits of chicken, and another found the chow mein dry, the chips frozen and the curry sauce powdered. Others raise cost, saying containers arrive not full and a 10p carrier bag is charged even on deliveries. One reviewer was frustrated that card payment had stopped and had to walk to a cash point, only to find the order not yet started when they returned.

“We’ve ordered from this Chinese takeaway for the past 5 years. Every time the food has been fresh, hot, great quality and tastes amazing. It has always been delivered promptly (where other takeaways can’t even find our house!). From ordering to cooking to delivery, all the staff are fantastic! Best takeaway in Hinckley. Please don’t change!!”

“Most anoying thing they stopped taking card payment, had to walk 15 min to the nearest cash point, asked to get food ready when I come in they only just started. Clearly had no trust. Used to order due to card payments and now it's not avaliable, makes you wonder why? . Food was alright but won't come again...”

“Order for a delivery at 7pm, was told they be 45 mins. Rang them at 8.35pm. After being 45 mins late. For them to say its still going to be a while possibly up to an hour or more!... However no communication in the meantime to say about the delay.... Never had a takeaway with them before. Was told great things... Well looks like i won't be having a takeaway with them now”
