About DLuna

On Crendon St in High Wycombe, DLuna serves a Brazilian menu in a small dining room. The kitchen offers Creamy Mushroom Crostini and garlic king prawns to start, with beef stroganoff among the mains and tiramisu to finish. Pão de queijo is served alongside coffee. Thursdays bring a steak night built around a tomahawk steak, a fixture on the regular menu. Reservations are recommended given the size of the space. The restaurant is reached via a back path by The Hub near the station, close to Easton Street, and the entryway is narrow, with restricted access to the toilet. The restaurant opens Monday to Saturday and closes on Sundays.

Customer Review Summary

Steak night draws the most consistent praise, with reviewers repeatedly calling out a perfectly cooked steak and the Thursday special pairing steak, fries, tomato salad, jus and a bottle of wine for two under £60. Close behind, starters like the Creamy Mushroom Crostini, Garlic King Prawns and garlic chilli prawns get recommended, and the Beef Stroganoff and tomahawk steak also earn mentions as standouts, alongside pão de queijo and coffee praised by one diner. Puddings are more mixed: while a lemon tiramisu is enjoyed by several, one reviewer found the fondant lacking a gooey centre and thought the tiramisu overly sweet. Service is repeatedly described as attentive and welcoming, and the small, homely atmosphere and decor draw consistent praise, though one reviewer notes the menu's Brazilian billing doesn't quite match the Mediterranean feel of the food and setting, and another flags that the narrow door and restricted toilet entryway make it unsuitable for wheelchair users popping in. One reviewer notes staff timed the gap between starters and mains perfectly at their request.

“The damage: Starter, Main, Pudding each + 1 side and 2 drinks under £100! Starters were great, generously portioned and delicious I would 100% recommend the Creamy Mushroom Crostini and Garlic King Prawns. For mains we both had Beef Stroganoff and it was great, very mushroomy which we loved with proper bits of beef (stewing beef?) as well. Next time I think I'll go in for one of their sharing steaks on a special occasion, as the pics on here look fantastic. Easy enough to get to, park in Easton street and leave up the back path by The Hub and you come out by the station. It would be a good place to meet someone stepping off the train actually. The atmosphere is lovely, we felt comfortable the second we walked in and the decoration is very cohesive throughout. The menu says Brazilian, and while I have no idea what Brazilian decor or food would look like, it gave me a Mediterranean feel. I would say not suitable for a wheelchair to just pop in, as the door is narrow and the toilet has a restricted entryway. Which I understand, it's not a new building. Puddings were ok - the fondant did not have a gooey centre which was a little disappointing and while the lemon Tiramisu was good it was also very sweet, which I imagine some would love, just not for us. I did not enjoy the spoons. An odd shape, strangely narrow.”

“Lovely place with a really good food and service. I would recommend a visit.”

“Really great dinner on the Thursday night steak night. PERFECTLY cooked steak, insanely good jus, fries and tomato salad. All of that plus a bottle of wine for £58 (for 2 people). Also a lovely tiramisu for dessert. Lovely service, really nice homely atmosphere (it’s a small restaurant). I can’t comment on the rest of the menu (was struggling to see how it was Brazilian) but this is not the type of cooking you get in other wycombe restaurants. Make sure you go!”
