Quick info
About Mezza House
Mezza House brings Lebanese cooking to Church St in High Wycombe, and it pays to arrive with cash, since card payment is not always accepted, with a cash machine a few doors down to fall back on. The kitchen is halal, and no alcohol is served. Shawarma, shish taouk and a mixed grill with rice anchor the menu, while baba ganoush, houmous and tabbouleh come alongside as sides, with house sauces served with chips. A family sharing platter suits groups eating together. Tables are well spaced and staff serve at the table, and reservations are recommended, though the doors open daily. A step-free entrance makes the room reachable for visitors with mobility needs. Anyone eating off site can order for takeaway or collection, or through Deliveroo.

Customer Review Summary
Shawarma anchors most accounts here, described as flavourful and generous, with one diner reporting the mixed shawarma alone was filling and another praising a chicken shawarma. Close behind sit the mezze sides, with baba ganoush singled out twice and paired with hummus and tabbouleh as the recommended additions, often alongside a family sharing platter. Others name the shish taouk for its tender chicken and fresh salad, plus the rice and mixed grill, and several call the cooking authentic Lebanese. The owner draws repeated mention for a welcoming manner, and the room is described as quiet, cosy and well spaced. The recurring practical snag is payment, with two reviewers noting that card is sometimes not taken and pointing to a cash machine a few doors along, one adding this was not flagged before ordering. Several suggest eating in or collecting rather than using delivery apps. One guest recalls mentioning a birthday and being sent baklava on the house.

“We celebrated our friend’s birthday here and the food was absolutely amazing. It is not easy to find great authentic Lebanese cuisine in the UK but this place really offers delicious authentic Lebanese food. The owner/ manager is such a hospitable person who makes sure the overall experience is good. The person waiting on us was trying really hard despite it being his first day so I think that is something that will improve with time but I would definitely go there again.”
