About Bunch of Carrots
Bunch of Carrots is a traditional British pub in Hereford, on Hampton Bishop, with wood beams, brick walls, original features and a fire. A carvery runs daily, with a choice of meats including beef, served on warm plates with plenty of vegetables and homemade gravy. Puddings are homemade, and a dessert trolley carries old school Black Forest Gateaux. The menu also lists pie and a range of vegetarian choices, and the bar pours ales and cider. A private dining room gives groups a space of their own, and dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
The carvery is what most reviewers return for, praised for plenty of beef and other meats on warm plates, a great selection of veg including roast parsnips, and proper homemade gravy. One diner wished the carrots were roasted and the potatoes crispier. Close behind are the homemade puddings in big portions, a dessert described as an old school Black Forest Gateaux, and the pie and fish and chips, both called full of flavour. Reviewers also mention well-kept ale and cider, plus plenty of veggie choices. Dog owners found the pub welcoming, and one table was cleared quickly for them. Service draws mixed accounts. Many call the staff friendly and attentive even when packed, but others describe a server returning twice for an order, a salmon dish that had to be ordered again, and one table forgotten after a promised dessert trolley never arrived. One reviewer found the ploughman's small, with only a few pieces of cheese, and another found the tart and butterfly chicken dry and the focaccia doughy in the middle. A free small plate for a two year old was appreciated.

“We went into the pub on a busy afternoon with our dog and they quickly cleared a table for us. Everything was great. However people around us left and we were on our own in that area of the pub. We ate our food which was delicious! The lady cleared our plates and agreed she’d bring the dessert trolly over…. She never did. No staff member came near us so we couldn’t ask and we truly felt forgotten about. After a long wait we decided to go to the bar and pay. We missed out on puddings and was quite disappointed in the lack of service.”

“We had a lovely lunch here today. My partner and I are visiting with our dog so needed to find a dog friendly spot. The weather has been nice so we sat in their outside seating area. There wasn’t anyone else outside when we came so it was very quiet and spacious. To start, I had the focaccia and my partner had the calamari. They were both delicious and we need that the rest of the meal would be lovely if it was anywhere near as nice as this. Everything was so fresh and full of flavour. For mains, I had fish and chips. The fish was fresh, the batter was full of flavour and the chips were soft with a nice crisp on the outside. My partner had the pie which he said was packed full of meat and full of flavour also. The lady serving us was very welcoming and friendly and the service itself was fast. We would definitely come back here if we visit the area again.”

“My friends and I visited the pub on a Monday lunchtime. The pub was probably 50% full. We ordered various items including ploughman's and Salmon dishes. Ploughman's. The pub had no ham so ordered the cheese option. The plate was very small with only 3 small pieces of cheese and a tiny amount of pickle. The salad had no flavour. A very average dish and I was still hungry after eating. Salmon. A nice dish but had to order twice because the server forgot. There was only 3 of us so forgetting 1 dish is unacceptable.”

“Beautiful tradition pub. As a group of 4 visiting for the first time with a dog. We found the pub very welcoming and the most friendly staff. The food was very good, with lots of choice on the menu and plenty of options for drinks and ales for everyone. Definitely worth a visit! Thank you to the staff for your fantastic service.”

“Had a really good visit here yesterday. The pub has a warm cosy atmosphere and the staff were friendly and well attentive despite the place being packed. Food was good and prices seemed competitive. Lots of veggie choices which sets it apart from other pubs in the area. Will come back again”
