About Ginger & Spice

Ginger & Spice is an Indian restaurant in Hayes with a menu that spans South Indian, North Indian and Indo-Chinese cooking. A South Indian breakfast buffet gives the morning its own spread, so the restaurant serves more than lunch and dinner. On the South Indian side, the kitchen makes dosa and masala dosa. Chicken dum biryani is among the rice dishes, and dragon chicken covers the Chinese side of the menu. The restaurant sits at 58 Station Rd, a short walk from Hayes and Harlington station.

Customer Review Summary

Diners most often single out the dosas, praised in both the dinner menu and the weekend buffet, with the mutton curry, lamb biryani, lamb chop curry and chicken lollipops close behind. One reviewer enjoyed a mixed grill that came with prawns and fish, and another liked a curry with a peppery spice. Others describe a chaat deal built around pani puri, samosa chaat, papdi chaat and masala dosa, and several mention the range across South Indian, North Indian and Chinese dishes. Staff draw repeated praise for being welcoming and friendly, with a few reviewers crediting individual servers for looking after them. The recurring complaint is availability: one reviewer found porotta and vada unavailable, and another missed the veg mix bhajji and found the onion bhajji portion small. One reviewer was unhappy with a chicken dum biryani order. A few say they plan to return, and one notes the restaurant is a short walk from the station.

“Had the weekend buffet, crazy good deal. Food was absolutely delicious throughout, with special shoutout to the dosas and chicken lollipops (idk if this is the real name but this was on the board 😂)”

“We tried the Chatpata Chaat Deal (£7.99 per person ) at Ginger & Spice and overall had a good experience. The deal included pani puri with spicy water, samosa chaat, papdi chaat, masala dosa, tea, and onion bhajji. The food was generally tasty and we enjoyed trying the different items. The onion bhajji portion felt a little small, the veg mix bhajji wasn’t available on the day we visited. Overall, we enjoyed the variety and the food was good.”

“Had a good experience at Ginger & Spice, Hayes. The food was really good, especially the dosa and mutton curry — both were full of flavour and suited Indian taste buds. We also tried the dragon chicken, which was tasty and a good choice for Indian palates. The only disappointment was that quite a few items from the menu were not available during our visit. Porotta and vada, for example, were unavailable, which was a little disappointing. Overall, a nice place with good food. Hopefully, they can improve menu availability so customers get to try more of their dishes.”

We tried both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, and every single one was cooked to perfection. The staff were incredibly welcoming, respectful, and attentive throughout our visit. A special thanks to Uma, who took exceptional care of us and made us feel truly valued. Everyone working there was friendly, professional, and made our dining experience even more enjoyable. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the hospitality was top-notch. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!”
