About mui koko noodle bar
Below the Holiday Inn at 1 Crown Gate in Harlow, mui koko noodle bar is a Chinese noodle restaurant that puts modern Japanese, Korean and Chinese noodle dishes on a single menu. The room is a bright diner, so a table can mix cuisines without anyone choosing a side. The East Asian fusion menu runs to a large choice of dishes, including a chilli chicken ramen bowl, beef ho fan and chicken katsu curry. Fried rice, with a beef version, sits alongside the noodles. The restaurant is a short walk from Terminus car park.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the huge portions, with the chicken noodle dish topped with fresh coriander, the chilly chicken ramen bowl, and the chicken katsu curry among the dishes named. Fried squid, satay chicken, perfectly cooked shrimp and savoury fried rice also draw praise. Close behind come the speed of service, with one reviewer saying food arrived within minutes of ordering, and friendly, helpful staff. Many call the prices good, and several describe a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere with wooden decor, cherry blossom and Chinese lanterns. One group including neurodivergent and disabled diners felt well looked after, and another family was given a high chair and little chips and sweets for the baby. The main criticism comes from one reviewer who found the beef in the beef ho fan slightly off and hidden under soy sauce, with both that dish and the beef fried rice tasting of too much MSG or salt. One diner's katsu curry arrived after the kitchen had run out of salad, which they did not miss.

“Went here for a quick lunch bite and while they don't have any lunch special prices, it's very reasonably priced and you get massive portions! They ran out of salad for my chicken katsu curry but I didn't miss it.”

“This was my first visit to this lovely restaurant and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. I came with a group of people who are neuro divergent and some have disabilities. Im pleased to report that we were very well looked after and had a lovely time. I chose a Chinese dish and it was one of the very best Chinese food I have ever eaten. It was delicious and the portion was satisfyingly big . I loved the flavours of the various meats and the fresh vegetables. The restaurant has a nice relaxed atmosphere. The owner in my opinion clearly has a remarkable eye for visual things. I love the wooden decor and cherry blossom. There is a beautiful display of large Chinese lanterns, lovely little displays of Chinese cups and bottles on the shelves and a collection of empty wine bottles in the front window. The toilet doors have a quirky display of door handles, bolts and locks. It is all slightly different, but fun. I love this place. It’s friendly and relaxed and above all the food is outstandingly good. I hope to be back soon,”

“We had such a fantastic meal here. Everything we ordered arrived fresh and tasted wonderful. The chicken noodle dish was a real highlight, topped with a generous amount of fresh, vibrant coriander that really elevated the flavours. We also enjoyed the perfectly cooked shrimp and the savoury fried rice. The atmosphere was welcoming and made for a lovely dining experience. We will definitely be back.”
