About Masala King
Masala King is an Indian takeaway at 10-12 Burnbank Rd in Hamilton. Its menu runs beyond curries to pizzas, kebabs, burgers and munchy boxes, so a group order can cover several tastes at once. The chicken curries come with nan bread, rice and spiced onions alongside. Pakora arrives with its own pakora sauce, and the doner kebab sits on the kebab side of the menu. Chips come with curry sauce for anyone who wants them. The takeaway opens daily, evenings only.

Customer Review Summary
Pakora is the item reviewers name most, and opinions split. One calls it brilliant alongside the curries, naans, rice and spiced onions, while another says the pakora sauce was the one thing that made a kebab edible. Curries earn praise for good chicken, though one diner expecting chip shop curry sauce got tomato-heavy red curry on chips. A hot pizza and the chips also draw compliments, and a weekly customer describes staff who serve with a smile. Kebabs take the sharpest criticism: a large that looked small, dripping in grease with only green cabbage for salad, and a chicken kebab with a texture like pork sausage. Late deliveries recur. One overnight Deliveroo order never arrived, the refund was refused, and the caller was hung up on. One reviewer reports stomach cramps and diarrhoea for two people after eating pakora and naan.

“2 hours for a delivery to arrive is not on, phone! email! just do something to let the customer know.”

“The food was mid, donner kebab was alright, chicken kebab was disgusting, the texture was like a pork sausage. Also the heater that the kebab was twisting around had some small flames appearing sometimes, to be honest a bit cornerning, the fries were ok.Also they loaded salt, so at the bottom of the tray was very salty.”

“Went in and ordered chips and curry, assuming it would be the usual chippy curry sauce. I was told they do serve chips and curry, so I grabbed it and jumped on the train looking forward to it. Imagine my face when I opened it and realised they’d given me chips with actual red curry, not the standard chip shop curry sauce most places serve. The curry itself wasn’t great either. Very tomato heavy and just not what I was after with my chips. Pretty disappointing.”

“I had my order last night. The pizza was amazing & hot”

“Worst kebab I've ever had. Ordered a large but got what I suspect was a small. Much smaller than other nearby places anyway. Absolutely dripping in grease. Salad consisted of bright green cabbage, nothing else. The pakora sauce was at least decent and made the kebab edible....just. Husband had a burger which he said wasnt that great. His can of juice was also missing. Food was also over half an hour late.”
