Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the food, which several call excellent or lovely. The aubergine and spinach lasagne is described as very tasty, and one reviewer recommends the goats cheese flatbread and the hash stack. The mushroom carbonara drew a more lukewarm "okay but not great". Close behind is the atmosphere, with seats near the garden wall or upstairs singled out, and a room that fills quickly even on a mid-week evening. Service splits the reviews. Some call it friendly, prompt, or attentive, while others find certain staff robotic with few smiles, and one wishes someone would check in on the meal. A reviewer describes one waiter as arrogant and a bit aggressive, says nobody asked about desserts or more drinks, and reports that several tables struggled to get the bill. Others note slow service on a full Saturday night, only one men's and one women's toilet, and that pushchairs must be left outside. That same reviewer went elsewhere for desserts and drinks.

“We decided to go La Luna for lunch as not been for a while. The food was lovely as always but very disappointed at the level of service by some of the staff. The guy that asked for our food order and brought it to the table was very arrogant and a bit aggressive. Thankfully the young man that served our wine was lovely and friendly. Nobody came to ask if everything was OK with our food. Neither were we asked if we needed anymore drinks or if we wanted desserts. The next table to us tried to get somebodies attention for the bill. When they were finally acknowledged us and another table all asked for the bill. On leaving the unpleasant waiter looked over and never said buy or thank you. We just felt as customers very undervalued and everything was an effort for them. Won't be in a hurry to go back. We went elsewhere for desserts and drinks.”

“Great find in halifax, we went twice! Lovely decor, clean, plenty of staff and the food was amazing! Highly recommend the goats cheese flatbread or the hash stack. Will definitely be returning!”

“The food was amazing. The sun was shining so we attempted to sit out at first but it became to hot so we moved inside where it was cooler. If visiting in colder days we may try outside again under the patio heaters. Definitely going to visit again the next time in Halifax. The cost was £61 for 2 people with one alcoholic drink each. We were going to stay for more drinks but were heading to a concert at Halifax Minster.”

“Large Italian Restaurant on Westgate. Lots of seating both outside and inside, upstairs and ground level. Lots of staff but very slow service, probably because it was full on a Saturday night. I had Aubergine and spinach lasagne £17 which was very tasty and my partner had mushroom carbonara £16.50 and thought it was okay but not great. Great atmosphere especially if you're sat near the garden wall, see photo, or upstairs. Only 1 male and 1 female toilet, woefully inadequate for such a large restaurant. Definitely worth another visit.”
